After handing over a package to one house the lady asked me to wait for a moment as she had something for me. A minute later she appeared and firmly handed it to me....... A MISDELIVERED LETTER! for re delivery.

Best one I got was in an envelope sticking out of the letter box.

I opened it and saw a 2 pound coin. "Tight git" I thought. The women then came out of the house and before she could talk I thanked her for the tip. She sort of smiled. (You know the one which says."What the feck are you talking about?").

As I went to throw the envelope in the bin I saw written on it ' Paperboy. Merry Xmas'. I kept on walking....I must have looked like Gordon Jackson in the great escape. I was waiting for her to say "Goodbye" in a German accent and to be shot right there and then!

I can t belive I kept it... It haunts me every christmas for at least 5 seconds.

Never did get a good morning from the young chap after that........................ All for sake of 2 quid. What a tosser!

I would be grateful for 50p - my council estate walk has garnered me exactly 1 Christmas card (with no tip)

I bet you are one of those types that write out xmas cards to all your customers and expect a tip.............be thankful you get anything at all!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

One of my ole dears stopped me last year and said to me "You must get cold this time of year, hold on I`ve got something for you!".
I was expecting a wee dram or even a pair of gloves like I always get off another customer of mine and she returned with some of them old fashioned longjohns!
The lads at work took the piss for ages and started calling me `Compo`.

It's the thought that counts. It's probably a lot of money to her. :no no :no no :no no

I started a new walk this year and it had not had a regular postie for some time so i've had to work hard to restore confidence inn the service. There's one particular miserable git whom gave me a lot of hasstle this year but I have remained pleasant to him, so you can imagine I was bowled over when he handed me a fiver the other day!

Today I got my first tip which was £10, and thought that if all the households I delivered to also showed their apprediation by giving me about 5p for each day I delivered their post then I would be over £5,000 better off by Christmas !
