Re: 5hr+delivery spans
You can have shorter delivery spans but it will mean a much higher number of part time jobs.
If you vote to have longer delivery spans then it just shows that the health and the welfare of staff is irrelevant to ......the staff.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Heres the law;
https://www.gov.uk/rest-breaks-work
Rest breaks at work
Workers have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day, if they work more than 6 hours a day. This could be a tea or lunch break.
The break doesn’t have to be paid - it

How long are you out for at present? Are you working the full ammount of your contracted hours?hans solo wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021, 09:02are there ssow and h&s in place for this

We've got a few duties that are already 5 1/2 hours plus, and even longer on a Busy Day.
We all have to realise that RM will have their pound of flesh. If indoor work is dropping of they will expect us to make up for it outside.
Hopefully the Hour off the working week may help this time around. I know the last two attemps have merely resulted in the majority of Posties just booking that so called saving as "Pressure Over Time"

Re: 5hr+delivery spans
We have some new starters on 22.30 contracts, they come in & bag up 2 loops & go out with a trolley & have 2 more bags brought to them later, they have no tracked & no PDA, they only work 4 & half hours x 5 days, once they hit time, they come back regardless.

Re: 5hr+delivery spans
As with all things Royal Mail it's Great if that's what you're looking for Pathfinder. On that sort of contract you're only going to be taking home about £200 a week. Great if you're living at home with Mum & Dad, looking for a Little Part Time Job to get you out & about
I believe we should be looking to provide "Proper" Full Time Employment for as many people as possible .... Not an endless choice of Crappy PT Contracts.
Basically most Posties don't want to be out working until Stupid O'Clock (whilst their FT Prepping (Senior?) colleagues are at home showered, changed and chilling out).
They don't want to be working most of the Weekend (that's when Normal people "Normally" Socialise ... Weddings... Birthdays ... Parties ... Pub ... BBQs in the Garden ... Sport.
If anyone wants a job with Flexible Timings try the Home Delivery Services of any LARGE Retailer ... Delivering Food at 2200 on a Sat Night for people that are too bloody idle to do their own shopping FFS!
Not having a personal Dig Pathfinder ... Just a General Rant .

Re: 5hr+delivery spans
We have an insane situation where about a dozen posties want to reduce their hours and there's about thirty want to increase their hours. But all requests to reduce hours are being knocked back despite the fact that there's plenty of folk wanting the 'lost' hours.

Re: 5hr+delivery spans
5hrs were the norm.before this pandemic yesterday out for 6hrs 30. I'd like to say uts a 1 off but that'd be a lie and the union are useless. Managers say only thing you can leave are non tracked pkts.

That's all Bollocks.
