Hi everyone,
Only just discovered this site - thankyou and keep up the great work!
Q: Does RoyalMail publish their international mail routes anywhere?
I posted a small parcel (International Signed service) from the UK to the BVI (British Virgin Islands) which shows as having left the UK on 29th July. Needless to say it hasn't arrived yet (27th Aug) and no further updates on the RM tracking site. I have checked on the BVI postal tracker site (https://bvi.gov.vg/services/tracking-re ... rs-parcels" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and the parcel shows only as 'On-route' to BVI.
I am assuming that due to corona virus delays, the parcel will be sitting somewhere in a backlog. Question is where? Hence asking if RM list the routes international mail takes. I.e. Does mail from UK to BVI go first to USA then to Mexico then to BVI and could therefore be sitting in quarantine in any of those countries?
Thanks in advance.

International transfer routes
Sorry as far as I know Royal Mail class the routes the use as commercially sensitive to its unlikely they will produce them somewhere.
However. BVI has been and continues to have severe problems according to the update on the RM page https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... t-bulletin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

International transfer routes
Cheers TrueBlue,
Fair point on the routes being somewhat commercial although the RM competitors mainly use their own end-to-end route network so it shouldn't be that big an issue to have basic route info available.
I had seen the BVI page you listed but was hoping that, as it was a few months back, the situation would have changed by now. It would be good if RM could even update all the routes with expected delay times so we would all know it may take say 8 weeks to get there. Or perhaps open up the tracking info to customers during this period - If I knew my parcel was sitting in a depot somewhere, I'd be more understanding given the pandemic and therefore less likely to stick in a claim for a lost parcel - although I still think the 5-9 day service should not be billed as such until the delivery times are back to normal.
Cheers.

What's the contents? Sometimes the contents of a parcel can cause issues with customs. Also items with lithium batteries in can cause problems as well

Hi SpacePhoenix,
Sorry, I should have listed that in the original post. A book and some confectionary. Both clearly marked on the contents paperwork. Thats all.
Cheers.

Re: International transfer routes
Hi there,
I'm wondering if your parcel to the BVI was ever delivered? It's of interest as about 6 weeks ago I posted some documents from the UK via Royal Mail Internationally Signed to the BVI (with 5-10 days delivery) and as yet they haven't arrived. The Global Track & Trace states 'On Route' and the Royal Mail Track and Trace indicates when the item left the UK but nothing further. If you have any top tips to try find where my item is that would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
