Certainly won't be getting any from me now especially after being accused of being a manager :wave
To be fair aiden your post was rather silly which isn't like you.
I'm tired and aching every day mate and it doesn't stop me posting on here. There's a massive difference between being fit to work and fit to pick up your phone for two minutes, how else would you manage to phone in sick or make it to the Doctors?, being sick doesn't have to mean completely incapacitated.

It was a bit unnecessary mate but the manager thing is still a daft reaction.
Agree woody was a bit silly might actually have apologised but for the manager finger being pointed at me. thanks for the advice.
We I think you should apologise because you acted like a dick.
There are countless posts on here with people being ill and from my tiny memory no one else has put them down like you did.

Yes your post was uncharacteristic but you still did it for what ever strange arse reason.
The manager thing is a slight moot point in this instance, even though it's something that is a piss off for us.
Apology offered.
Apology accepted. Please accept my apologies for the manager comment.

And can I apologise for saying you acted like a dick aiden, especially if I put up a group hug smilie

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ok, had the jab, very tired and felt very very nauseous within an hour of jab. All my colleagues and customers who had the jab recently have reported being nauseous, that was a side effect I didn't expect but ok now. Went to bed that night and couldn't sleep because head was buzzing, a friend reporting exactly the same symptom , he had the jab same day, same centre.I'm hoping to get back up to speed soon but two of my colleagues are still washed out after a week!
Don't get me wrong I'm glad to be vaccinated but in my opinion it is 1 in 10 do NOT get a mild reaction not the other way round.

Had jab Thurs, took paracetamol afterwards which seemed to head-off the flu-like symptoms which I felt were lurking in the background. Must’ve used a new needle as didn’t feel that go in at all.
Partner had jab Fri, felt discomfort travelling down arm and couldn’t sleep that night. Went back to bed Sat afternoon and been there ever since. Can’t eat due to nausea and got full-on flu symptoms. She’d also taken paracetamol but obviously didn’t help much !

I wonder when we are back to two/three in a van, will they pair up the vaccinated & non vaccinated together? Even different areas of working within the unit?
Everyone who's vaccinated do realise it doesn't stop them either catching or passing on covid, right? Some people seem to think its like a shield of steel!

Any fit & healthy people having second thoughts about having something put in them with all these blood clot deaths?
Only reason I'll have it is to enable me to go on holiday, same as any other innoculations you need to go overseas.

But do people who think COVID inoculations are somehow different, realise that's exactly the same for all vaccines? No inoculation is 100% effective, nor provides a barrier to passing it on. The various COVID inoculations, as with other types of inoculations, provide a greater degree of protection than if you had not had the vaccine, that's it.

From FiveThirtyEight:

March 26, 2021: What The Heck Is Going On With AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 Vaccine?

Apple Podcast

The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has been hailed as the world’s vaccine — it’s inexpensive to produce and doesn’t need super-cold storage like the mRNA vaccines do. It’s been approved in countries around the globe, from the U.K. to Mexico to Australia.

At first, clinical trial data indicated that the vaccine had an efficacy of nearly 80 percent, though a small study of about 2,000 people showed it to be considerably less effective against the variant first identified in South Africa. But that hasn’t been seen as a reason to keep the vaccine from the rest of the world. And so far, tens of millions of doses have been administered.

Nevertheless, the vaccine has still not been approved in the U.S. This week, on the verge of submitting their vaccine for FDA approval, AstraZeneca committed essentially a communications faux pas that could shake the public’s confidence in the shot. And, unfortunately, it’s not the first public relations scandal AstraZeneca has gotten itself into since the pandemic began.

I agree. Why let unvaccinated people into the workplace?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Otherwise they will rack a massive bill up on the state for people claiming to get council tax and food paid for them.

Ok there are two ways out of this pandemic, get vaccinated or social distancing, you gotta pick one or the other , there's no third option of saying I'm not doing either of them and going back to normal, if you choose not to get vaccinated then you have accept the consequences which is you stay in isolation, I took the vaccine and I too have accepted consequences of a very small heath risk, I don't want unvaccinated people keeping this disease alive till it mutates into something more serious or evades the vaccine, I understand there's a group of people who can't get the jab yet and it's unfortunate but they will be able to get it eventually, I know the notion of passports is unpalatable but it's a temporary measure in a time of crisis

Do you really think they will spend billions on a passport system and only keep it for a year or two? once its here it will stay, dont get your booster one year you become one of the great unwashed and not allowed in anyway. Nothing wrong with social distancing lets keep that, besides who wants to sit next to a stranger at an event, id sooner be 1.5m away and pay double to go out so the venue dont suffer.

Please remember the vaccine doesnt stop you from catching or spreading covid, it merely takes the sting out of it for now so it can still mutate into something more serious even if everyone had the vaccine.

Social distancing isn't viable long term, a good few types of business/industry won't be viable. The most obvious example being public transport, I believe that full length single deckers are currently limited to a maximum of 10 passengers. Just looked up the spec of one type, normal capacity is 42-77 (I'm guessing it depends partly on what seating arrangement the operator goes for). That's a massive drop in capacity, so to offer the same levels of service, they effectively need at least 4 times the number of buses
