Item stuck at Atherstone Intl RDC for over 2 weeks

Post by rdlister »

Can anyone help, my parcel from China is stuck at Atherstone Intl RDC since 16th January. Last tracking they cannot identify delivery address. I'm based in Grays Essex. I called royal customer services and they mentioned they cannot help as they are not the carrier, but it lists below royal mail received the item. I receive these parcel routinely and royal have always delivered before without issues.

I called the Atherstone delivery office but they couldn't help either :arrrghhh .

Don't think it'll be Royal Mail delivering it, that's certainly not a valid tracking number format to be coming via Royal Mail. The times and locations don't look like what you'd expect to see if it were coming through Royal Mail.

I don’t think that Royal Mail have any kind of facility in Atherstone, except for the usual local delivery office. But TNT do, so I expect TNT are the carrier. Contact them.

Oh yes they do...since 2107 (link). Look up CV9 1LP both as a postcode and on Google Maps. The aerial imagery shows RM tractors and trailers, but on Street View the imagery dates from 2016, ie before RM moved in.

Atherstone intl RDC,
There is definitely something very wrong going on at the Atherstone intl RDC I've had three items that when checked on the Royal Mail track and trace was given the message that my package had been delivered their in error and was immediately being re directed and that is the last time you ever hear or see the item . Each of these items were what I would describe as attractive item and small packages .

It is just note right that mail is disappearing without trace never to be seen again and this really does need to be investigated as it is totally unacceptable . I've spoken to complaints at the Royal Mail and their escalation team have looked into it but as yet have no idea where these items have gone or who is responsible.

How many others have have "lost" mail and valuables via Atherstone intl RDC . Perhaps the consumer press need to investigate this as a priority?

This is mainly a forum for posties. Accusing them of theft is not likely to get you any help.

What you describe is so unlikely as to be effectively impossible. Two possibilities:

1. You are being scammed by the seller. Have you checked the tracking on RM's website?
2. The contents of the package is either being seized by customs, because it is illegal to import it to the UK (e.g. tobacco), or being officially destroyed by Royal Mail because it contravenes the Dangerous Goods Act (e.g. badly packed mobile phones). What is in the packages?

The sender needs to make a claim for loss or damage. If you are buying these items, you need to put in a claim via the seller's website.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So reading on here If I've had "Item Presented to Customs Atherstone RDC" back on the 18th February, the likelihood is I'm not getting it?

My item from aliexpress got to atherstone intl rdc and was returned to sender the same day. the staff there are either lazy, incompetant, or pulling a fast one and stealing items, or both. just look here:

https://www.yell.com/biz/royal-mail-ath ... 2/#reviews

does anything leave this place?

Accusing Royal Mail staff of incompetence, theft and laziness on a forum for their colleagues is hardly likely to generate a willingness to help. Thought I would mention that.

If indeed you do think they are guilty of any of your accusations there are places more appropriate to complain to.
