Package never returned to the sender

Post by milia972 »

Hello,

I've provided by mistake a wrong address to a seller and of course the package hasn't been delivered.
There is more than one month that the tracking says that it will be returned to the sender but still nothing arrived to her.
When I call Royal Mail, there is not any option for wrong address issue.
Maybe the delay's issue is because of the COVID 19 or the package is lost?

Help me please.

This was sent signed for, which doesn't have full tracking.

If the package did not have a return address on it then it will have gone to the National Returns Centre, where they will look inside the parcel to see if there is a return address in there. It isn't impossible that this could take 5 weeks or more. If there is no return address anywhere then the you or the sender really need to submit a lost mail form or the item might get destroyed. You can do this via the webform:

Signed for items only get scanned on attempted delivery, even when they are being returned to sender.

Returned to Sender items already have had their service so they are not treated with the same priority as the original address.

This means that the item is probably not lost, but as it is essentially a free service (the return to sender part) then it will be slower than normal and is probably caught up in a backlog somewhere.

Also, some RTS items are sent to Belfast so it may be worth completing the form in snaggletooths reply above this will help them identify it and return it to you if they have.

Thank you for your answers, the package do have a return address as the sender told me and I've already tried everything to make a claim or get in touch with Royal Mail so I think it's because of the COVID 19 that it's so slow.

My parcels haven’t arrived to destination
My parcels have left Uk one month ago but they haven’t arrived yet just I know that EDI has received them, they are ten parcels not just one or two .I am under a lot of pressure.

OK, not sure what we as an unofficial site can help with here as there isn't a lot of information to go on. It may be better to approach Royal Mail via an official channel.

Hello, I sent a parcel to an address in Sandbach UK, however I mistakenly omitted the house number. My return address is on the parcel. On the 23rd of January it was marked Returned To Sender. There has not been an update to the tracking information since then and I have not received the parcel back. Is this normal or would you suspect, as I am concerned about, that the parcel is lost?

The tracking number is 0211739A0113BA0D

Thanks

Items returned to the sender have already received the service paid for. This means unfortunately that they receive the lowest priority in being sorted and returned according to RMs policies.

So to be frank a week is not that long a delay, but I would still keep an eye on tracking.
