RM 48 Standard Parcels

Post by Business15 »

Can anyone tell me if RM 48 Parcel standard not tracked is delivered on a Saturday as i have heard 2nd Class Parcels is?

Also is RM 48 arriving within the 2-3 days timeframe or is it delayed still?

I'm afraid there is no clear answers to your questions because it will depend on local circumstances, sick levels and covid related resourcing.

There is certainly no business wide policy or issue that would affect these services.

Do you know if they are being delivered on time or is it best to stick with RM 24 standard parcels?

The way the business is currently being run a common instruction is "prioritorise premium products". So if the workload is too heavy Special Delivery and Tracked items would be delivered but anything else would either be left behind, or only delivered if the postie had enough time in the day. Within the Delivery Office any item not classed as premium could be left behind, we don't check whether they are RM24 or RM48 - they are just not "premium". The same applies to letters and smaller packets, they are a lower priority.

As Woody says above, every office is different so there is no fixed answer.

Once RM24 and RM48 arrive at a delivery office, they're both due for delivery that day. The difference between them is how they pass through the pipeline from when they arrive at the outward MC through to when they get sent from the inward MC to the DO

I am not saying whether they are due for delivery that day, I am saying what actually happens within a delivery office!

Yes.

Because it says on the Royal Mail Service website that Royal Mail 48 standard Parcels and Large Letters are not delivered on a Saturday, only Royal Mail 2nd Class Parcels are?

https://www.royalmail.com/d8/saturday-services

Can someone confirm this is the case?

What about current delivery times, have you noticed rm 48 or 2nd class arriving within the 3 day timeframe or do you still have a backlog of post?

I want to use your 48 service so that i can offer my products cheaper and to combat RM price rises. Please can you tell me the honest truth about if it is being delivered on time?

I also noticed today that 1 of my Signed For RM24 Large Letters arrived today on a Sunday! Does this happen just for RM24 and 1st Class or rm 48 and 2nd Class also or just Business services?

Thank you for everything.

All I can tell you is that parcels are cleared everyday in my office, if we are struggling we are told to make sure all our parcels are delivered

Individual offices may experience backlogs if they are dealing with high levels of sick absence due to the pandemic but there are no business wide issues.

I've noticed that too, I send most of my eBay items Tracked 48 and they have all arrived within 48hrs. Great stuff!

Meanwhile UPS's Next Day service is taking 3 days+...

Thanks.
