Tracked with Signature through postbox

Morning!

Yesterday I posted a tracked 24 with signature envelope through a postbox nearby. I did it before the collection time.

Using a postbox was one of the options offered on the website. I was aware I wouldn’t obviously get any proof of postage.

I would’ve expected a scan when the envelope reached the mail centre overnight, but so far the tracking does not give any information. Is that expected?

No, it's not expected. However, with Cornavirus and reduced staff, it is possible that the last collection from a Post Box was not made, if so it will be collected today.

Also tracked was very busy last night where I work, if it's the same over the whole country it may just be that it hasn't got to a scanning point yet. I don't think collection drivers scan the items from Post Boxes as they are not sorted, but they are separated at a mail centre and the scanning process probably starts there.

I leave my Tracked 48s in Parcel Postboxes that have a final collection of 18.15, I usually always see a scan at the local MC between 10am - noon next day.

RM seem not to like me. Whether it wasn’t collected yesterday or not scanned yet, they’re playing with my mind. :)

I was really hoping it would be delivered today but I assume it won’t be case!

This is highly frustrating.

I was really afraid of using a RM service again after my recent SD experience, but I thought I’d just been very unlucky then and that having this sort of issues is unlikely.

Unfortunately still no scan more than 36 hours after it should’ve been collected from the postbox. In theory it should’ve arrived yesterday!

If it was posted in a letter box and was a machinable letter then it's probably gone through the system as a machinable letter. If it's not happened to be at the front of a stack on a machine then it won't be processed as a Tracked item until it reaches the delivery frame of the postie who'll be delivering it. They *should* treat it as a Tracked item once they've seen that it it's a Tracked item.

What's the first half of the post code where it was going? Maybe it's a delivery office with lots off sick or self-isolating due to Covid
