Strange Request

Post by mur007 »

Hi - apologies for this, it’s a bit of an odd one. I agreed to buy something online and the seller has accidentally posted it to Ireland!

I have an Irish name and he assumed I lived there, so he wrote my full UK address on the package and put Ireland underneath, then took it to the post office and sent it off.

He’s saying that he filled out a customs form, and it’s been in transit for nearly two weeks, so it sounds like it’s actually gone to Ireland.

There’s no tracking number but he assured me he did put a return address on it.

What are the odds it will show up?

It is quite likely to show up eventually, either at your address or the sender's.

It is the seller's responsibility in law to get this to you. So if it has now exceeded the agreed time you should be claiming a refund and, if the seller does not agree, asking your credit card company for a chargeback.
