Hello!
I ordered a parcel from the US, tracked it into Heathrow, and then it somehow got diverted to Canada where it is bouncing around facilities in Montreal.
I've called USPS, Canada Post, and Royal Mail and engaged them on Twitter, too. The sender contacted USPS and said "too bad, package is only first class package."
Canada Post can't do anything without external direction from either USPS or Royal Mail. Royal Mail only relies on its internal tracking which says the item hasn't left the US yet.
Is there anyone who can help grease the wheels and assist?
Thank you!

What's the tracking number? There might be a clue in the tracking as to why it's bouncing around in Canada

To the untrained eye, Canadian postcodes look a bit like UK postcodes. So if the sender failed to add 'United Kingdom' to the end of the address then the US Postal Service workers might mistake your parcel as meant for Canada.jkatzmandu wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 16:13I ordered a parcel from the US, tracked it into Heathrow, and then it somehow got diverted to Canada where it is bouncing around facilities in Montreal.
To make it even more confusing, lots of places in Canada are named after places in the UK, even in french-speaking Montreal. So if your postal address includes, say, 'Beaconsfield' then Canada Post may be trying to work out which of their Delivery Offices in their Beaconsfield includes the street written further up the address.

For those wondering, tracking is LZ562053015US ... destination in UK is in OX10, which I don't think is "duplicated" in Canada at all.

reading between the lines it appears as though the USPS at Heathrow were the ones to send it on to Canada so its them that I would be putting pressure on.jkatzmandu wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 16:13Hello!

If its addressed correctly though, Canada Post should have sent it on to the UK as per UPU agreements. However, one fly in the ointment is that Canada Post are very picky on addressing and their system may not be st up to handle an international item that has an incorrect, or incomplete address.

That's interesting to know; I had the sender call USPS and they said since it's only a first class parcel and not priority there isn't anything they can do. When I called Canada Post they didn't know how to help because they can't enter non-Canada addresses for the parcel. This whole thing is kind of ridiculous.reading between the lines it appears as though the USPS at Heathrow were the ones to send it on to Canada so its them that I would be putting pressure on.
