Canada Post Xpresspost to UK Parcel Force

Hi there,

I'm after some help please, I have an item inbound to the UK from Canada, its been sent with Canada Post Xpresspost International it was sent Feb 1st and forwarded to the UK on Feb 5th to the UK from Montreal, its a 4 to 7 day delivery under normal standards so I should have received it Tuesday Feb 9th.

I totally appreciate we're in a global pandemic and there are delays, I'm assuming this would arrive into the UK at Heathrow going by past experiences, the value is $20 Canadian about £13 quid. I had it sent xpresspost as I know there are delays so thought this would be better to use, but annoyingly I've had regular air mail items arrive from Canada in quicker timing than how this item has been sent with xpresspost.

Are there significant delays with parcels entering the UK right now? Delays at Heathrow with customs clearance? I suspect now that its been a week since it was dispatched to the UK its just in a backlog? I'm just concerned its gone missing, I've sadly had this happen before with a similar service via USPS.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply much appreciated, just wondering can you shed any light on this???

I'm getting conflicting comments from PF social media help when I've asked them, I've always been informed items only get scanned in to the UK system once it clears UK customs, no scans prior to then on arrival in the UK as it goes immediately to customs from the plane, so it only gets scanned by RM/PF once it clears customs.

This is the message I just got from the twitter team...

"I'm sorry, the parcel is first received into our network and then sent to customs. Your parcel is not in customs as the tracking would have updated to show this if that was the case. - Pam"

Have things changed or is the social media incorrect?

Hi sorry for the delay, yes it finally arrived last week, was just delayed I guess to be expected with the demand in the postal systems and staff illness / shortages, just more worried it was lost but all is well.

Took a week longer xpresspost delivery aim is 4 to 7 days, mine took about 12 days excluding weekends.
