Hello Im expecting a parcel to the uk and was just wondering if anyone is having this or has had this problem or has any insight as it hasn’t landed in London which normally takes a day since it departs the airport thanks.

Hi,

My item left Spain on the 5th and still hasn't been logged in the UK

I dont understand how it can just drop off comms like this.

Fingers crossed the packages turn up adn make it through the system

The answer to both questions is the same and apologies for being Blunt this is not normal times and there are delays in every postal and customs authority with only a few exceptions. Spain and the USA along with the UK seem the most affected.

When items "drop off comms" it usually means customs (at either end) have decided to check a particular batch of mail.

On the USA one if it's coming via USPS they will scan the item when it arrives in Heathrow

With the Spanish one, hopefully, nothing is wrong with the paperwork because after Brexit they seem to be very strict and that's adding to the delays.

I know this doesn't help you, OP, but I've had some weird things with USPS packages in the past. Last year one took 3 weeks to go from a post office in LA to the airport in LA (this was when there was a relative lull in the chaos over there) but pre-pandemic I've also had one bounce back and forth across the USA a couple of times before departing, and one went LA to IL to - somehow - Japan (?!?!) before arriving here. Despite that I think I've only ever had one out of tens of parcels from that sender actually get lost.

Add to that customs and pandemic and Christmas backlogs and not much surprises me from USPS any more! But it is always a bit of an anxious wait when things depart from the usual process.
