Lost from Spain? Please help!

Hi All,

I hope you are all well and compliments to the excellent work you all do everyday!!

I am hoping someone may be able to help.... I am waiting on a package to be delivered from Spain (originally posted 30th Dec) but despite leaving Spain on the 5th of Jan via Correos, it still hasn't been logged in the UK?

I appreciate thinks are a bit crazy at the borders/Customs but this time frame seems a bit extreme?

Can anyone offer any advice or insight ..... fearing the package may have been lost :-(. I have asked the sender to contact Correos to chase up but they dont seem very forthcoming.

Any help/advice or insight kindly received!!

Spanish Post Office has advised that the heavy snowfall across Spain, caused by Storm Filomena, are severely impacting upon collection and delivery of all mail types.

Madrid–Barajas office of exchange was closed from Friday, 8 January 2021 until Monday, 11 January, when it resumed operations, with reduced staff and hope to return to normal by Friday 15 January. Madrid–Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport was also closed, and operations there are being restored gradually.

Force Majeure remains in force, and signatures continue not to be taken on delivery.

added to that the delays caused by Covid and Brexit in both Customs and Royal Mail there is s till a chance of it turning up.

For official advice you could try twitter @royalmailhelp - they ask for a Direct Message after you tweet them and they are busy, but at the moment its the quickest way of contacting an official channel.

I have been in contact with them and they advised to get the sender to contact Correos and log as lost, which will trigger Correos to try find it!? (Strange process!)

It does seem weird that either company cannot locate packages between leaving Spain and being handed to Royal Mail.....Like a Bermuda triangle where people are left completely in the dark until it is logged into the UK network. Do they just sit in a warehouse waiting to be processed?

Correos surely must know / be able to confirm that the package has been deposited with UK Customs as the flight/truck would have returned by now?

My Package finally arrived in the UK on the 3rd and was delivered to my house yesterday! An incredibly quick turn around and quodos to those involved.

I know this happened a while ago but i have the same issue. Out of interest what did you do to get the delivery to happen? Did you just wait or was there someone you contacted? thanks
