International Tracked and Signed

Post by Drakey79 »

I’m wondering if anyone can throw any light on this subject for me. Friday 4th Dec my item is showing as leaving the UK to Thailand. This doesn’t actually says it’s left. RM have said it left on a flight, I want to know if it has actually left or is there a backlog at Langley? will there be another update when it actually leaves? How many flIghts have there been? RM won’t give me an answer to that. I have been on to Thai post and they have said that it’s not arrived yet. This is over a month now so I would have thought another update would have been available by now. Should I be concerned? If it’s delayed then it’s no problem it’s just not knowing that it bothering me. Anyone else been in this situation? And how long did it take to arrive?

Thank you x

No once Heathrow scan an item it means its been passed as a batch to customs, and unless its returned there is no way to scan to say its been boarded.

When there is gap between postal authorities 99% of the time its means its being processed in Customs.

Royal Mail won't say how many flights there are to a specific destination for 2 reasons:

1. The call handler/twitter responder, won't know that information,
2, I believe Royal Mail consider it "confidential business information" so won't publicly release that information. Also with Covid still hitting the airlines I am guessing that the service to international destinations is patchy at best.

Hi, I have a similar issue with an International Tracked and Signed item being posted to Italy. I can't get through to RM phone lines which have over 60' waiting time.

The status has been the same since Tuesday 12 January 02:22am: Tracking no. RY273074146GB. In Transit: Item Leaving the UK LANGLEY HWDC.

There is still nothing on the Italian side, and the recipient says Poste Italiana told her it's not in the country.

Question is, is it time to make a refund claim for a lost item, or could it be found? Is it possible to know for sure if it has left the UK? It is really sad as the item was a handmade gift of emotional value for both of us (a baby wrap), so money won't replace it...

Thank you in advance for any advice, really appreciate your activity on here.

My guess is that your own item is with Italian customs. Did you put a customs declaration on the parcel?

The Royal Mail helpline won't be able to help as it has left the UK

We are not an official site, so by default believe Twitter, who are an official account.

They may well do, which will be a win for you, in fact given the current situation and previous posts I think the chance is better than 50/50 it will turn up. :thumbup
