The selfishness of some fellow workers who simply want to come in and fly round to get done a couple of hours early and not aware of the impact it has on the office with more lapsi etc,it’s an argument that will run and run,and a boss who manages two units and spends more time at one than the other, and lets us fight and bitch amongst ourselves!,

I'm learning to have quite a bit of disdain for those that want to clear their path of snow, but can't be bothered to do it properly.
Seems they think a kettle full of boiling water is sufficient, until I turn up after it's turned into a layer of solid ice... There's far more grip on paths that haven't been cleared!

But that’s not technically true is it. Mine went up by £2, £1 after 6 months and another £1 after 12 months service. I see your point though about idiots taking seniority seriously.Sprattacus wrote: ↑06 Dec 2020, 12:59Walking into work at your correct time and seeing others who already have their d2ds, first tray, magazines and parcels up on their frames![]()
People who take seniority too seriously and forget they're still on the same pay as the person who started a week ago![]()
PDAs and parcel left cards when it's torrential rain![]()

Re: What annoys you the most?
Colleagues who feel the need to act like line managers getting involved.
I work to my time and I’m currently on a round that is just short of an hour too big, so each day I’m bringing a big chunk back and the backlog is building and building. Last Wednesday I had two senior postmen come up to me saying it’s not on me bringing so much back and I should be staying out clearing it like everyone else does.
It’s one thing battling management, it’s another thing having to argue with coworkers.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Re: What annoys you the most?
The division between fellow posties will always mean the company will win. Too many are too happy to criticise anyone who is struggling a bit, and then turn a blind eye when they reach breaking point.
It reminds me of one at our place. He is in the top five on the seniority list so had the pick of the best duties (although they are all fair of course) - he runs the whole time - few customers know his name because he rarely stops - he signs for and/or doorsteps everything - if he does another round he moans that he has to tie it up different to the frame because he cuts across gardens - before ghost overtime was stopped he was the first to take it. Overall he pretty much ploughs throw every bit of doing the job correctly. But his opinion of anyone cutting off is that by cutting off they make a problem for someone else when they should deliver it all. And needless to say he has his little band of mates who go along with it.

Ones like him will always get away with it, managers see them as untouchable because they always complete.

Not true at all. Tonnes do it and get away with it. Complaints well and truly swept under the rugSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 10:18Would only need one customer complaint on his round and he'd end up in the s**t

After you’ve knocked/rang the bell and someone shouts - usually from halfway down the hallway- “who is it?”
I feel like shouting out “open the f***ing door and you’ll find out”

This last problem had me off with stress. I can argue with managers about excessive workload all day, but when you don't get the backing of those around you it was time for a move.HTPostman wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021, 09:07Colleagues who feel the need to act like line managers getting involved.

Re: What annoys you the most?
Only in my second month and what's annoyed me is getting in to an unprepped frame (because I've been hired as part time and nobody has called me in for overtime,) with 50% of Friday and Saturdays work left in it (because the guy covering on Saturday refused to take it all out due to the volume,) then line manager says "you can handle it, just go over if you need to" and locking themselves in a meeting until you've given up and gone.

Re: What annoys you the most?
Everything at the moment, bonkers revision, managers not seeming to care, senior managers thinking it's a joke, top managers either fooking thick as fook or have some daft plan that they ain't telling,. In some ways it stinks of Post Office Horizon
