Lol the union always say its a good deal or best we could hope for. How is it we always end up in a position striking is the only option? The working conditions have never improved all my years on the job. It'll all be kicking off again in less than 6 months. We are always blinded by the pay rise and back pay!

Culture won't change even with an agreement in place that you would vote for. RM needs to modernise and that's it. It seems a lot of you are afraid of this. I was worried about losing my job and this agreement avoids it. The payrise doesn't bother me, it is just a bonus and an ok figure (and even though we laughed at the covid bonus we got earlier in the year that needs to be taken into account) for what the world is facing. It seems a lot of you want more than the figure offered even though you know RM didn't have to offer jack and just quote covid as a reason for a no payrise offer. We have better terms and conditions than all other businesses in our area.

Introduction of more tech is a given, we can't keep working in the dark ages. As for reduction in the working week, I hope we keep going to 35hrs with paid breaks. Take into the travel times to your duties, van checks etc and we would be working less so whats the issue if you work at a steady pace? I do think we need new representation from the union. Fed up of Terrys hot air crap on social and the lawyers need a slap. :Very Happy

Nobody disputes that we need to modernise. Just seems to me that most of the happy clappers just see a shorter working week and pay rise in the deal. We'll all be moaning again within 6 months. Always the case nothing ever improves! We love carrots lol

Yep and by 2023 when working conditions are at an all time low, what are you going to barter with then? This deal might guarantee you work until then though that's about it!

right now thats fine, and heres the thing, unlike a lot of you if the conditions do worsen and theirs somewhere to go im quite happy to find another employer!

When youve worked in a warehouse with no heating having genuine screws watching every movement having to ask to go to the toilet all for £7 an hour ( at the time) what the agreement does this time is not at all bad.

Lets go back to basics.

They want you to start a x time and finish at x time
they want you to clock on digitally to make sure you do this

They want you to push bits of paper through a door and press a button to say youve delivered a parcel
A average human can only walk at 3mph max so they cant ask you to walk any further 15 miles a day which most of us are already doing.

in return you will get around £12.30 for each hour you do this.

If you can find something simpler that pays more than this please post a link because we would all like to see it.

So we have an agreement till 2023. Well yes, do you expect any company making an agreement would not have an end date to current agreements? Businesses change as the years go by and unfortunately negotiations will have to happen again. The saying dangling carrots? Really? So having job security is dangling a carrot? What would you be saying if the jumped straight to job losses instead of waiting till 2023? Last in first out? All the other rumours before these agreements? What then? As for dangling carrots, how many times I hear in my office from most senior colleagues they best pay me off and they can do what they want. Cool so screw the less senior staff anyway for a pay off, thanks. How many of you recieve other payments on top of what a new starter would get? Lol dangling carrots.

Think a lot of you expect to get everything without giving something in return. Which is fine if we could but you can't keep demanding everything for nothing. As again culture will always be a crap area, even with a glittering agreement with severe penalties in place.

If you haven't worked anywhere other than RM then you won't know how ok it actually is working at RM. Great if you've been with RM forever but thinking jobs out there have better terms or pay for what we do, think again.

What would you want to improve the current agreement? And don't say a higher pay figure :Very Happy

And i am one of those new starters that has a contract which states , 25hrs given to you by your manager ( no start/finish/duration time), overtime may also be required inc weekends and bank holidays.

Why will we be paying for it? Nowhere does it say ' you must work harder' nowhere does it say you must do 38 hrs work in 37. That's what revisions are for. If you have been working correctly, coming in on time, taking full breaks, you may even find your workload decrease. If on the orher hand you cut corners, come in early carry bags on your shoulder and skip breaks then yes you may be in for a shock.

Mine isn't. Contract hrs £11.62 , first 10 hrs £11.72. so, again, it's not.

When you factor in the delivery supplement it's less than your pay rate and after 10 hours it's even less.

Semantics I know but it is a fact that once a part-timer hits 38hrs their overtime rate reduces.

I think people were trying to say they we've heard it all before.

Those that are favourites will continue to be favourites.
Those that wanna 'run' and finish early will continue to do so.
