Hi all,
Been reading the new gov guidance and it really doesn't seem like they wrote a version with consumers in mind. Thought the trade deal in the news would be a good thing, however for personal buyers looks like they've sneaked in something that ruins it for us. Now I've read that:
- "The new arrangements will also involve the abolition of Low Value Consignment Relief, which relieves import VAT on consignments of goods valued at £15 or less."
Which means that my £15 or less Korean imports (personal music collection) and ones I order from the EU also below £15 I'm going to have to pay a customs fee on like it was an over £15 product even though I never had to before. Am I reading this correctly or am I missing something? Are we really about to be hit by massive fees?
If someone could explain it would be much appreciated.
