Well that's interesting. We don't really have the resources or vehicles for that - but today we sent a vehicle out on what must have been a 40/50 mile round trip taking about 1 1/2 hours for just 3 - 9 o'clockers. Still missed the 9 deadline on one so is it cost effective? - I don't think we should be wastng resources like this when the packet bays are overflowing.

Where i work is exempt from the 9 o'clocks specials, which is handy as i reckon most of the 1 o'clocks fail :left:

I delivered a special today that was posted on the 8th and the 24hr parcels that we have to deliver are a joke, some get delivered over a week late, and that is without the xmas pressure :cuppa

the only thing thats changed in my office since the starting times changed are that none of my 1.00pm special deliveries get confirmed anymore, especially as the 1 i had today was delivered at 1.35pm :confused

The 9am Specials are (in my opinion) being mis-sold ie they should only be for business to business who need the information urgently otherwise 1pm specials are good enough for everyone else.

9 o clock special delivery

Post by shades »

The 9 o clock specials that I get on my round get delivered between 10 and 10.30.am, I usually have at least one or two a day.
I tell each customer to claim the cost of postage back but I dont know if
they do.
The post office just dont care that they cant deliver the goods on time but
they will still take the money

The drivers at my office take the 9am'ers out regardless of size, most of them are for businesses, which are normally the ones that come back into Callers as the businesses arn't open. For some reason the 'customer' always thinks that these 9am'ers will get delivered at dot on 9am
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
