Hello,

I am wondering does anyone know if there are delays for parcels leaving the UK and going to the USA? I sent something tracked on the 19th October and it hasn't updated since. The last update was Item Despatched to Heathrow Worldwide DC and nothing since. I did reach out to the Royal Mail and the first time they claim that it most likely never got a scan in the UK and most likely left the UK and is in the US. I use the tracking number on USPS site and it just says Label Created, not yet in system. I did contact them again today and all they said is that they will not class it missing until the end of the month. I did contact the buyer to ask them if they have the items in case it never got tracked and got no reply yet.

Does anyone know if there are any delays or is it just bad luck? Should I refund them now or wait until I can claim the item lost just in case it turns up and the buyer has the money and the items? This has never happened to me before.

I’ve sent bout 15 things to the USA the last month. Only one is still going through the system as I posted on the 25th and it only just updated that USPS got it 2 days ago! Some items though are going through at normal speed and arrive within 7 days but others just take longer it’s not consistent at all. I posted an item and then 4 days later posted another and the item I posted later arrived first. I hope your parcel gets there safely. More than likely not been scanned or there is a back log somewhere

Thanks for the reply. I did contact the seller and they are not worried about it just yet. I am waiting for something from Japan and somethings arrive faster than other items. I suppose there is a backlog somewhere.

USPS was used as a political tool during the recent election there and delays were huge, it may be that its in the US but waiting to be processed.

Royal Mail don't send emails so I am guessing that its from the sender, and they probably are not aware of the current situation within Royal Mail. Thats not their fault though.

However if you check out the coronavirus news articles section you can see that the virus is currently hitting RM hard, even causing 1 office to close. You may find your local delivery office listed in there.

Just update it has now turned up in the USPS system the other day after a month long delay so the buyer should get it soon.
