Not enough 1st class stamps! Help!

Post by Ron Burgundy »

Hi all

So my friend posted me a package which is 210 grams, he was supposed to put 3 1st class stamps on it but he only put 2, I was wondering if this will now be classed as a 2nd class package instead or what will happen?

Thanks,
Sir Henry

Probably nothing and your parcel will turn up as normal. There is a possibility you may receive a grey card informing you that the local delivery office has a parcel for you but there is an shortage of postage which you would need to pay plus a handling charge of about a quid.

It will go 2nd class if the value of the postage attached is equal to or greater than the cost of second class. If less, you will get a card through the door asking you to pay the shortfall plus a fine before RM release it to you.

Which of the above apply will depend on whether the size of the package is large letter or small parcel.
