Customs 'Fee To Pay' Card - advised by RM as received... but I haven't received it.

Hello!

As usual, this is probably something it will be much quicker and easier asking about on here.

Two days ago I was advised via ebay tracking that my local RM delivery office is holding a parcel from China as there is a customs fee to pay. The tracking has gone through the Chinese carrier OrangeConnex, to Royal Mail's 'Royal Mail received-we've got it' and Customs, etc, to 'Pending-We're holding your item at Delivery Office as there is a fee to pay. We've left a card asking for payment as there is a customs charge due for the item.'. This tracking info was dated yesterday at 7.35am, and a Grey Card was not delivered to me, yesterday or today. I assume RM will have changed the tracking number once the parcel entered the UK and passed to them, so the OrangeConnex tracking number I have is now useless for any potential follow-up.

Quick question - is the fact I haven't yet received this alleged card anything to worry about? How long should I wait now for a card to show up? Is it just that everything is running slow thanks to Covid? If I don't get the card, I can't pay the fee.

If it`s no rush you should wait few more days or you can go to your delivery office during opening hours, have ID with you and see if they can give it to you after you pay the custom charge.

If the card comes, you can pay online and ask to be delivered on a day you know you`re home.

Thanks for replying - the card showed up this morning. I was just in a flap because it said 'We've left a card' instead of 'We will leave a card'.
