RM Tracked 48 Parcel Lost Help

Post by anon007 »

I purchased a Royal Mail 48 Tracked with Signature label online for a medium parcel trough Click & Drop. Took the parcel to the nearest Post Office and obtained a Horizon Certificate of Posting. After a while, the parcel is not delivered, the recipient won't collect it from their office and I expect the parcel to return to me. But it doesn't, so I open a Lost in Post Compensation Claim. After uploading the Certificate of Posting and Proof of Value documents, I also mailed RM accompanying documents to show that I have refunded the buyer too. I received a letter today saying that I need to mail an Original Certificate of Posting as the one I uploaded does not show the Tracking number. And If I don't do that I can only be able to claim £20 ?!?

My problem is that is the Original Certificate of Posting, meaning I do not have any other Certificate of Posting, that's the Certificate that I was given at the Post Office. It shows the address and postcode , but there is no Tracking number. But, you can see clearly that the parcel was moving trough the system.

I specifically bought that label because I need a compensation of £60. So why is this happening?

That's quite a technical question and to be fair most of us on here are ordinary (or perhaps extraordinary at the moment) posties.

Hopefully, someone can answer or give advice but it could be some time.

If you use click and drop, are you supposed to print off the A4 sized manifest and take it to the Post Office? I think that used to be the case. The manifest would be your certificate of posting.

Thank you for your replies. I just received another email asking for the same - proof of posting.

In the Click and Drop , there is only one thing to download - The label. Nothing else. :-(
