Special delivery delivered to wrong house
So basically, on the 4th august I had a special delivery due. The tracking said it had been delivered but it never was delivered to my address. The tracking went from delivered to sender preparing item at 12.30 and then scanned into Leeds MC at 10.43 the same night. This was the 4th august yet still had no update regarding this? An investigation has been opened and the postman actually came to my door to tell me what had gone on. He had delivered to the same number a few streets down who had taken it back to the local office who then sent it back to Leeds. Now I’ve phoned several times since and keep being told that the item will be coming back to me. My question is, does anyone know the timeframe of this? As it hasn’t updated since the 4th august. It’s getting quite frustrating now being told the same every time yet not a single update. The tracking number is VE020311568GB any insight into this would be hugely appreciated

Personally, I would keep bugging customer services as even though a mistake was apparently made, at worst case the item should have been returned to sender. It might even be worth contacting the sender to see if it has been returned yet.

I have contacted customer services and keep being told the item will be rerouted back onto me at the delivery address yet no update. I mean how long does it take it’s been two weeks tomorrow since it last was scanned as going back to Leeds. Do these take longer to be processed? The sender still hasn’t had no return either it had a correct return address on

No, it should be treated as a new Special Delivery and delivered at worst within a few days. Call customer services and ask them to escalate it.stej1990 wrote:I have contacted customer services and keep being told the item will be rerouted back onto me at the delivery address yet no update. The sender should also apply for a refund on the cost of postage.

Special delivery delivered to wrong house
Yeah it’s certainly frustrating two weeks today since the last update. They have already got an investigation open and all that’s came from that is a panicked post man coming to my door explaining what had happened regarding it being delivered two streets down. No official correspondence from them even tho we were told 72 hours I would get a phone call. Not good service I get everything going on but this is getting silly now

So I contacted customer services again today to be greeted by quite a rude guy who seemed to tell me the opposite to what I’ve been told. I gave him the reference number for the investigation that was open and he stated the item won’t come back to me and I’ve to ask for a refund. Apparently something’s gone on with scans but he said something about it will be returned to sender and the scan after it had been delivered was at the post office it had been sent from? So I asked how it’s possible when the local post man had been and told me that it has been delivered a few streets away by mistake? It isn’t right? Lol. He said he cannot disclose that information? Is this some sort of secret service? Lol so someone is bull shitting somewhere along the lines. Apparently it’s been delivered in Wakefield (not according to guy on the phone) the. Been scanned into a post office in Belfast (where it was posted) then scanned into Leeds later that night. After already being in Leeds the day before and at other delivery offices local to me also? Anyone have a logical explanation because I don’t haha all he kept saying when questioned was I cannot disclose this information? And I’ll get a letter with the outcome of the investigation lol

It seems to me that the sender used the same tracking number VE020311568GB for 2 items?
If you live in Pontefract and your postie admitted to delivering your special by mistake to a different address, that`s the truth then and the customer service guy you spoke with today is trying to cover what happened.
You have to ask for a refund from the seller wich has to ask for compensation from Royal Mail.
I don`t know what else to say, it looks very odd.
I`ve uploaded the tracking journey just in case you`ll need a proof :)

Yeah he did say something about two scans. But how is that even possible? I’ve been in contact with the seller who assures me nothing has been returned and he only sent one item. He’s gonna phone them again tomorrow himself and find out what’s going on.
Yeah I live in pontefract and that’s what the posty said had happened to it. He brought it up on his pdf and showed what had gone on. As I say customer service had told us several times before today that it would be re routed and would arrive with me. His tone was very different and got told he couldn’t disclose a lot of stuff and a letter will be sent to me regarding the investigation. So my question now is will I ever receive the parcel or will the seller at least get it back? Real s**t show this

Certainly in the case of 'Tracked' items sent through RM it isn't uncommon to find two or more items with the same barcode on them. Whether these are genuine errors on the part of senders or they are attempting to avoid paying the postage is open to interpretation.
There is also a large amount of trading on EBay in in cancelled stamps under the guise that they are being sold to stamp collectors. This is obviously not what they are being sold for as stamp collectors are unlikely to want hundreds of large letter stamps with the basic definitive design. Very little is being done about this by either party and most stamps are not cancelled when passing through the MCs. We posties on ' the front line ' are encouraged to cancel them but we already rushing off our feet with brooms stuck in our nether regions.
Regarding not being given information from customer services the data protection rules are varied & wide reaching in the UK so this will be the controlling factor if cannot source certain information.
