Information on tracking

Hi,

I have a question regarding a parcel I have in transit and any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have a parcel coming from the US to the UK, I know this could take a month or more to arrive but I’m curious about my tracking information. My parcel says it left San Fransisco On the 28th of July, the next tracking update was the 31st of July saying it departed a transfer airport in Metropolitan Atlanta but it didn’t say anything about it arriving in atlanta only that it departed? Now it still isn’t updated after 6 days, curious if anyone has any insight into this? Could it have landed somewhere and now it is just sat there?

Thanks

Probably not.

The current president of the USA is talking down the USPS as he wants it privatised, and he is claiming that the next election (his year) will be affected by what the Americans call Mail-in Ballots. This political issue, along with Covid hitting the USPS fairly hard at the moment, probably means that the delays are getting worse and your item is most likely stuck ina back log.

Thanks for the reply, tracking did update and it said my item departed a transfer airport in London Heathrow On Thursday but I had this update tonight: Your item arrived at an origin transfer airport in JOHN F KENNEDY INTL, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES

So my parcel landed in the UK and has now gone to New York?? This surely isn’t normal is it?! for it to land in the Uk and then go back to the US? Very frustrating

What's the tracking number?

What's the contents? Maybe customs refused it entry into the UK

And the contents is a box of infant toys, if it was refused entry to the UK would the tracking not say so? Or the sender been notified at least?

if USPS tracking is accurate it re-entered the UK today https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmA ... 06527115US" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, what I think may have happened previously is that USPS scanned it before putting it on an aircraft, then didn't have enough space to load everything and did not send it

Then if USPS does bulk acceptance into Customs at Heathrow by scanning a manifest rather than individual items, it may show as arriving in the UK until they rescan the actual item back in the US.

TLDR: Scanned to aircraft - failed to load - bulk scanned into UK customs (even though not loaded) rescanned by USPS when it re-entered their system.

I have exactly the same issue! But no Tracking updates since 2/8/2020 :-(
My Tracking is slightly different....it says “departed a transfer airport IN JFK INTL, NEW YORK US on August 2, 2020 at 6:45pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination”

Nothing since :-(

That has the hallmarks of either:

Not making the aircraft and USPS haven't updated yet.
or
Its been selected by UK customs and caught in their backlog.

My previous tracking update on 30/7/2020 said my parcel had arrived in London Heathrow, then departed on the same day. I then got the tracking information for JFK on the 2/8/2020.
It’s all a bit confusing to say the least. I have no idea if my parcel is in Customs (backlog) here in the UK or somewhere in JFK INTERNATIONAL?
