Personally I would vote for some people who have voted yes and come who have voted no based on what i know about them and there sevices to the union as a whole.

I have seen a copy of the breakdown of voting but what purpose would it serve other than to blame each other for the final result??

You'd think so, but some want a scapegoat, it seems.
IF the vote breakdown by branch were available, then there'd be the "so who voted "yes" in those particular branches?" threads and questions, and as that info isn't available, the conclusion drawn would be the standard "see I told you it was rigged" conclusion by the brain-dead.
The only real conclusion to be drawn is that 64% of those who voted were satisfied enough to vote yes, but only 64% of the total eligable to vote felt strongly enough either way to bother.
And to think how we all laughed at the Florida election fiasco of a few years ago..............

Totally agree about moving on Lovejoy, no use weeping and wailing But the question surely is in which direction do we move?
How at election time ,is the membership going to be able to make an INFORMED choice if vital information is witheld. You have stated your voting intentions and your reasons for this but you do have the luxury of access to what appears to be priviliged information, is the ordinary membership somehow unworthy of this right?
As far as branch and office voting breakdown goes, blame does,nt enter the equation, there are two important issues though,
1 It would be relatively simple to check the official results with anonymous confirmation;
2It would highlight the areas where the union needs to do more work, recruitment, information, campaigns etc.If all members were aware of our relative strengths and weaknesses it would only help to build the union, especially given our leaderships belief that the true strength of the union lies in its local organisation.

In short yes lets move on ,but not blindly stumbling in the dark,but with an informed course and wiser for the lessons learned

No matter which side of the Yes/No argument you were on we are now all having to deal with the situation we find ourselves in. However, I am mad at 1 particular group of people - those that received their papers but did not send them back. As a result we now have an agreement that has not got the backing of the majority of CWU members and because of that there will always be questions about the credibility of the deal.

However, I think a line needs to be drawn soon. People are complaining about the result, and despite posts to the contrary people are allowed to complain about the deal if they did not agree with it. But at some point we have to stop complaining and live with what has landed in our laps. I hope that the day is not too long in coming as we have to move on and getting stuck in the past is not good for anyone, least of all hard working Postal staff and CWU members.

At the end of the day the agreement is the agreement and we now have to do our best working with it. It is very easy to sit back slagging people off saying 'nothing to do with me' - It is a little harder to step forward and take up the challenge!

Looks like the agreement is NOT the agreement with the attitude RM are taking over Saturdays, for that I don't blame the PEC or the Exec BUT how was the change going to be administered and did either of them question it. Remember the conference call?- the deal was sweetened with that offer - well we have been duped yet again, the Exec, the PEC and of course the membership.

Based on walksorted mail being available,then in my office a 0530 start is 100% viable on a saturday

In my delivery office then prep the walksort then do IPS and then prep again and then finsish off the IPS on the last van will make a earlier start on a saturday possible.

I don't know that it would do any good saying who on the PEC voted for or against - the final vote was down to the membership, the EC and some of the PEC recommended it and for that they should shoulder some of the blame, there is no excuse for the blatant campaign, using Union funds, for a YES vote. THAT is unforgivable.

We have seen ,in less than a month , that a leopard doesn't change it's spots, RM isn't going to honour any part of the agreement it doesn't want to. Whereas the CWU are hoping local agreement is going to be of value, RM have a corporate plan and it doesn't involve negotiation.

Yup Its called having the courage of your convictions.

Fine lets all assume that those who approved this deal acted in good faith and with the best intentions, forget conspiracy, pay offs ,electioneering .no mud slinging, you may be proved right or not,but you have passed judgement and should have the courage to stand by it,tell us who you are.
Personally I would be delighted if my fears were proved groundless, ordinary posties would be better off, I'd eat umble pie for ever and not mind a bit.
But If you are proved wrong don't try to duck responsibility behind the mask of anonymity , you will have made a mistake ,no shame in that, we all do from time to time ,but have the strength of character to admit your error and accept the judgement of a fully informed membership
