Hello - I’ve dropped off an envelope at the local Postal Office yesterday afternoon and my tracking read “ item dispatched” yesterday night at 8.33pm by London central mail centre. Today got an update reading “ sender preparing item” ?! Can someone help me to understand what could have happened ? Thank you !

Hello - I’ve dropped off an envelope ( special delivery guaranteed by 1pm) with important documents at the local Postal Office yesterday afternoon and my tracking read “ item dispatched” yesterday night at 8.33pm at London Central Mail Centre. Today got an update reading “ sender preparing item” ?! Can someone help me to understand what could have happened ? ...thanks so much

I've seen a few of these online and what it appears to be is a 'holding code' because it missed the despatch time for delivery today.

I would imagine it will be delivered tomorrow.
