US to UK tracking not updating USPS

Hi, I understand mail is slow right now but I'm worried my package has not moved in 7 days. It is a USPS First Class International parcel. My tracking is as follows:

Tracking History

July 16, 2020

In Transit to Next Facility,

Arrived at Regional Facility,
JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER

I have read that First Class International is not trackable - is this the cut off point where I have to just wait for a customs letter?

Whatever USPS service you are using appears to be trackable, at least at the the US end. If you want to know more about this, you will need to ask USPS.

This item doesn’t appear to have gone on the plane yet.

I am not overly familiar with USPS tracking, but if I saw the equivalent tracking for an item outbound from the UK, I would be concerned that it had been marked ‘do not fly’. What is in the parcel?

Don't know about USPS but for stuff leaving the UK any "Do not fly" items would get a "Do not fly" scan

Customs chose random batches of mail for more detailed checks so it's possible that it's in one of them batches

Ah yeah I don't doubt it could be held up in customs

If its helpful to mention, the tracking is UHXXXXXXXXXUS with X being numbers.

USPS cant promise that first class international packages will be fully tracked once leaving the US. This is because some countries national post services don't have the infrastructure set up to track all the way or refuse to because of costs involved

However, USPS first class international package to the UK is fully tracked after arriving in LHR, tells you when it arrives, when its in customs, when its passed to RM, When it departs RM, When its at local depo and when its out for delivery

"STATUS UPDATES BEYOND THE UNITED STATES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR SELECTED COUNTRIES"

UK is one of those selected countries

also should add, i post a lot from the US and items departing from airports in Chicago and NY are the ones i have had held up before, for between 1-2 weeks, before leaving the US

It is. I've used first class international and priority loads and both update in the UK. An American friend told me that LA and New York international are seeing big delays. That was back in June and I'm guessing not a lot has changed.
