Clarification regarding an item at Customs

Post by richard_lindsay »

Hi folks,

I ordered 2 items from the same seller in China, roughly 1 month apart.

The first item, according to CAINIAO arrived in the U.K. on the 23rd of June 2020.

The second item arrived on the 11th of July 2020 and was delivered on the 14th July 2020.

I'm assuming that the first item was selected for inspection? I appreciate that things take a little longer with Coronavirus but should I give up on this as it has been almost a month?

Thanks for your time

The first item was likely to have been selected for further inspection, in which case it is either in a backlog or impounded. If you want to rule out impending, let us know what was inside.

Check your contract with the seller, but you should probably be claiming from them for loss by now.

It was a lid for a beer keg and some silicone tube.

Hi Richard, decided to register and reply as we seem to have a hobby in common.

I ordered a pressure kit from AliExpress (seller named Brewmaster) at the end of May and they arrived at Langley on the 1st July where tracking seems to have ceased and haven’t received the item since. Hoping it turns up soon, really need it!

Haha, yeah I ordered a floating dip tube from the same seller.

I've built my entire Kegerator from parts purchased from them and everything has arrived perfectly up until now.

Not their fault though. Hoping that Customs get through the backlog quickly.
