Royal Mail 48 QR Code delivered?
Hello, I am hoping someone can help me. I send many parcels Royal Mail 48 (not tracked) and print them from click and drop. The QR code which prints on the label - can I find out if a parcel has been delivered using this qr code? I have someone disputing that their parcel has not been recieved and unfortuantly I seem to think otherwise and upset they are saying it hasn't been delivered when it has.
When i scan the qr code on my phone is shows JGB then a series of long numbers and letters, followed by their door number and postcode and my senders postcode.
I will have to open a dispute of missing post, but before I do, I just wondered if there was a way of checking if this parcel is infact missing or not.
Many thanks in advance.

Copy and paste the long series of letters and numbers into: https://www3.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It should hopefully recognise it as a valid "tracking" number (basically it's kinda treated as a recorded delivery but no signature is obtained)

Royal Mail 48 QR Code delivered?
I have just tried this, but unfortuantly it doesn't work. There are too many numbers and letters. They don't all fit into the track and trace.
It starts with JGB then 39 numbers and letters, followed by the house number and postcode.
Thank you though.

Royal Mail 48 QR Code delivered?
The code can have any number of digits, letters and numbers. It is usually printed above the QR Code on the label. Input it without any gaps or hyphen and it should work.

Sorry - another question you dont happen to know why the gps location details have been removed from this now. I can see parcels are delivered however the gps co-ordinates are no longer shown. Thank you.fb1969 wrote:The code can have any number of digits, letters and numbers. It is usually printed above the QR Code on the label. Input it without any gaps or hyphen and it should work.

Royal Mail 48 QR Code delivered?
When it started I looked at a few I'd delivered and only one showed the location (on a map) - and that was a Tracked item. I haven't heard anything about why it isn't there now, but as a postie I wasn't officially told it was available in the first place!

Thank you for your reply! I checked loads a month ago whilst testing this out and all showed gps location markers - now rechecking the same ones - it no longer shows them. Ive only realised as I have someone else claiming not to have recieved their parcel, yet it shows delivered - would have been nice to back it up with the gps location too. Thank you!fb1969 wrote:When it started I looked at a few I'd delivered and only one showed the location (on a map) - and that was a Tracked item. Royal Mail 48 QR Code delivered?
I think there was going to be a time limit on how long you could view it for, so the older ones may have timed-out by now, possibly just a few weeks at most. If this is a recent item the GPS info should be available to RM even if it isn't showing for you.
On a slight side issue, I had an item the other day with a sticker on it saying something along the lines of - this item must be scanned on delivery, failure to do so will be reported as a complaint. This ignores the fact that the QR box cannot be scanned if it is creased, printed too weak, printed too dark, folded over the side of a box, smudged by rain, behind clear tape which causes reflections, and quite a few other reasons. The reference can be manually input on the PDA, but obviously only if it is readable and the postie has the time to tap in all of the code - it the code is smudged by the rain then the chances are the PDA will be too temperamental to allow you to tap it in!

Yes - the one I am querying now is a recent one of last week.
I can view the delivered date and time just no gps unfortunatley - which is a shame - as it usually stops the complaint of "missing parcel" when I can proove a postie has been on their doorstep!
I shall see if there is a way of contacting RM and requesting this info. Many thanks!!

Hi how do you deduce the sender's door number and postcode from that number??
I have the JGB number also after scanning the barcode-
How do you know those details from it?
Cheers!

Not sure what you're asking.
The reference number we are referring to is printed above the QR Code type box that is on a lot of RM items. There is a variable amount of characters and they can be letters and/or numbers in any order. I am not aware that the code includes the sender's address, certainly the ones posted at a Post Office and printed on a sticker instead of a stamp do not have that information as it isn't asked for when the item is sent.
