I am expecting a special delivery 1pm which should have landed on wed 24th June 2020, the sender confirmed that he sent it out on tuesday afternoon 2pm before the last mail collection.
However the tracking says "we are expecting it" from wednesday 6pm. Now its Friday and still no movement.
How long can the tracking stay in this status for with special deliveries? I heard it could stay like this for only a maximum of 24hours but I think this is wrong info.
Hypertheticaly, if the sender didnt actually send it out like he said he did on the Tuesday, could the tracking stay as "we are expecting it" for longer than 1 week?
Also, being in this status, doe it mean the sender must have paid for the special delivery service or can he actually recieve the tracking number without paying for it and therefore scam me into thinking he has sent it when he really hasnt?

The "sender Preparing Item" scan at 6:19pm raises some flags for me.
I strongly suggest contacting the sender and Royal Mail, soemthing has gone wrong somewhere. Its impossible to say with certantity where though.
