failure to pay overtime is illegal witholding of wages under wages act 1992 - take RM to ET to recover themrobbie11020 wrote:Just as an update if anyone is interested in the original thread.... My DOM had a copy of the post on here, that had named and shamed him.
He had me escorted from the premises and i was told that i was never welcome again on Royal Mail property.
He wouldnt let me work out my notice and informed wages that i left the previous day!! He also said that he would not put my overtime for that week through as i didnt deserve it because of what i had said about him!!!!!!
Not sure if this is correct proccedure, dont think it is.
Anyway copies of original message and conversation between my DOM and I have been sent to the head of diversity and he ensured me via email that the matter will be looked into.
Have to wait and see i guess.
I would think that any withholding of wages is illegal but RM seem to think that they are above the law.norbet colon wrote:failure to pay overtime is illegal witholding of wages under wages act 1992 - take RM to ET to recover themrobbie11020 wrote:Just as an update if anyone is interested in the original thread.... Can any independant witness corroborate this story, as it smells fishy. He had me escorted from the premises and i was told that i was never welcome again on Royal Mail property.

robbie11020 wrote:Thats my point exactly, he has tried to cover himself my phoning wages and telling them that i have left the day before.
On the union front, i was so shocked from being ejected from the premises that i have contacted them after the event, i have also been in email contact with the head of diversity and inclusion who reports directly to the senior management.
I dont expect to get any joy, even if it only in the form of recognition for the way the place is run, that will be a start.
I did point out that i have a shared computer and even if it could be proved to be sourced from my pc at home, he would still need to prove that i posted it. His response was that he doesnt need proof, he cam terminate my employment any time he sees fit!! and i took a witness in to this discussion.
I am hoping that this isnt the case, i think he has let his emotions interfere with his managerial dessision in this case.
I know what your thinking...manager...emotion... i am as shocked as you!!!
Peace

RM may try the vexatious and frivilous number or make your motives out to be "suspicious" though it's more a more a case of whose calling whom or at worst hypocritical and laughable especially with RM assuming the moral high ground as we all know only too well ! , traditionally RM have always been defensive , secretive , autocratic and regarding themselves above the law .Night Tonic wrote:Trouble is, even discussing it on here isn't helping your case and if RM did sue for liable (which they may well do if you push this case), you could end up bogged down by a very expensive and drawn out legal battle which you could well lose, and badly. Its very difficult to do battle with RM on some levels and if you're just glad to be out, then it might be cheaper to just get on with your life. Seek legal advice before you do anything rash.
