"Sender Preparing Item" for 10 days on intnl tracked

Post by indiab7 »

Hey all,

So I am wondering if anyone had a similar situation to mine and could help since I cant get any answers from Royal Mail or even get through to a person in customer services to talk to.

I paid for a large letter to be sent to Netherlands. I paid £11 for tracked international on the 26th of May.

My tracking hasn't updated since the day I posted it at the Post Office. It just still says:
Sender preparing item. Your item was posted at Post Office® branch, Post Office on 26-05-2020. More information will be available as it travels through our network

I have been to the post office who told me it would be stuck at the sorting office but it should not have taken this long to be sent since I paid a lot for a tracked letter within Europe.

Is there any way I could track and trace this or do I make a complaint. I paid for this tracked as it was for a birthday and had cash inside.

Any help appreciated, Thank you!

Not all International items are tracked, without a tracking number its impossible to advise what sort of tracking you have and therefore what scans should appear.

However, it is most likely stuck in Customs or waiting for cargo space somewhere there are delays and backlogs everywhere because of the impact of Covid 19 on all transport but especially aircraft.

Thank you for your reply.

I actually had a message from the recipient last night saying that he received the card.

I checked the tracking and still there was no change or update, still said sender preparing item.

Bit odd because even the post office manager said that the tracking I paid for should have updated me along the way. Oh well atleast its there now although a waste of payment for tracking :Boo hoo!
