Nearly 4 weeks sitting in UK customs?!
Hi everyone I had an order shipped from the US to the UK on the 21st of April but since the 30th the last update I got from USPS was;
'Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on April 30, 2020 at 9:59 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination'
I've had other parcels delivered from the US which were order after this....?
Do you think it's lost or just sat in a backlog cage somewhere in Langley? I've asked the seller to try and get an update from USPS but nothing as of yet.
I can't ring UK customs I know and also royal are just saying it hasn't been cleared in customs yet.
Thanks

Probably caught up in a back log, which seems to growing rather than reducing. Still I would keep pushing the sender.

Well my package left the US on the 14th May at 12 am apparently and I've heard nothing since. Not even sure if it's a actually in the UK. Mine is flying from LA International. An American friend of mine told me that New York and LA are really back logged/slow at the moment.

Nearly 4 weeks sitting in UK customs?!
Hi, I hope it’s ok to post here rather than starting a new thread!
I have been tracking a parcel from the US posted 22 nd May - according to USPS it left the US on 1 June as below
Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on June 1, 2020 at 8:14 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.
01 Jun, 2020 08:14 LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM Departed
31 May, 2020 16:55 CHICAGO, UNITED STATES Departed
31 May, 2020 12:33 CHICAGO, UNITED STATES Arrived
31 May, 2020 02:48 CHICAGO IL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER, US Processed Through Regional Facility
30 May, 2020 09:15 CHICAGO IL INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER, US Arrived at Regional Facility
27 May, 2020 00:00 US In Transit to Next Facility
23 May, 2020 19:51 CHAMPAIGN IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER, US Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
22 May, 2020 16:36 QUINCY, IL 62301, US Departed Post Office
22 May, 2020 16:20 QUINCY, IL 62301, US USPS in possession of item
22 May, 2020 16:38 Quincy, IL 62301, US Shipping Label Created
After that the tracking apparently transferred to Royal Mail but the tracking information bares no resemblance to the tracking information from USPS above, the latest update from RM saying the item has not arrived in the UK yet.

I would be very grateful if anyone can shed some light on this - also if it has left the transfer airport as per the USPS tracking (which has been reliable to date) , does it really take over 6 days for RM to deliver it a couple of hours away up the M11 or is RM likely correct in claiming they have not received the parcel yet from USPS?
Thanks (I am awaiting a birthday present from my sister sent on 22nd May) - I know it’s only been a few weeks so I am more concerned about the wrong tracking information than anything else and concerned my parcel has gone astray somewhere (since both postal services are apparently not in possession of it!)

Your package will be in the customs department at Heathrow. In these unprecedented times things are being held up for much longer than usual so you have to give it time.

Thank you Grateful for your response. When I telephoned RM for a tracking update, the automated information said my parcel has now left the UK and I will be updated when it reaches its destination!?

Grateful, you seem a positive personality - good for you! And part of being positive is understanding other people's concerns. It's disappointing when someone has put in a lot of effort into a birthday gift or such or when sentimental items or items that can't be replaced are seemingly lost.
In my case I posted a parcel on the 6th May, and it hasn't moved since the day after (7th May). This was actually a time-sensitive parcel that contained items I spent many many hours (over a couple of weeks) creating. I still have no idea if it'll arrive or not. Yes, on the scale of disappointments, it might be not be earth-shattering. Life throws us disappointments all the time that far outweigh lost parcels, no matter the cost or time spent. And yet, I know the parcel would've brightened the day for someone going through a very challenging time. That hurts.
The Royal Mail posties are doing the best they can, and those I have the pleasure of knowing are kind and hard-working. And yes, they have all commiserated with the type of posts people have posted online. To reiterate what I've mentioned before, people are looking for clarity and reassurance. They're not blaming. And therefore the kindness of those who understand and seek to help is appreciated.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi Sherry, I too came on here looking for reassurance and whilst I didn't post to ask about my packages, I did find the answers I was looking for in other threads.
If I've come across as not being understanding of other people's concerns then I apologise, it was not my intention to do so.
In addition, I don't think I've intimated or accused people of blaming the Royal Mail and if I've come across that way, again I apologise.
I posted my original thread to show that 2 packages took entirely different time frames at various stages of their journey and both took longer to arrive than normal, but both got to me eventually. It was a post that I hoped would give the reassurance you talk about but it seems not.
I was only trying, in some small way, to give reassurance to people to remain positive that things will eventually arrive, but it appears, at least in your case, that it has not come across that way.
Best wishes to you and yours and I sincerely hope that your parcel eventually finds its way to its intended recipient.
