Do I claim or do I wait?

Post by Sherry »

Should I claim for a parcel sent on the 6th May that has still not arrived? Or should the I wait due to the current situation?
Is there a time-limit within which I have to claim?

You haven't left much information to go on. I assume you are talking about LB480274355GB?

If this is something you bought online you should claim from the seller if they contracted to get this to you by now. Check your contract with them.

If it isn't something you bought then you can claim if the destination is in the UK, but if the destination is overseas then you need to wait until 5 weeks have passed since it was sent. But in general, it is better if the sender makes the claim.

Thanks Snaggletooth.
This is something I posted to USA on the 6th May. I am the sender.
On the Royal Mail site, it says I can make a claim from 25 days. I am wondering if I should wait longer due to the circumstances or if I will then miss the 'claiming-period', if there is such a thing.

It is 25 working days until you can make a claim. After that, you get a while to claim, but I see no point in waiting.

Thanks Snaggletooth.
If the parcel turns up eventually, how would I 'refund' the claim?
