worktotime wrote:Hi can any CWU reps tell me if there is a new agreement with royal mail that posties can be REMOVED off there permanent duty ? during this farce of Saturday working ? , as I was told there is a new agreement , and to be honest this s**t should have never been allowed to be brought in .
I have my duty and have been regularly moved off it to cover other roles as i'm apparently the only one "trained & available". Not too bothered as they are ft roles but so i get extra £££.

Our rep has said we can be moved duties for operational needs. I've had this "operational needs" disagreement with dom / rep for years but thats about something totally different.

To answer your question. Yes you can be taken off your permanent duty. Your start & finish times stay the same. This was also the case before CV19.

Where you can question it is if its only you thats constantly getting moved. Our rep says everyone can get turn of being moved. Also it wouldnt be an option to move your P&L partner if you dont drive.

f***ing hell another one that understands , thanks as I thought it was just me .
The agreement does not guarantee that you'll be kept on the same delivery no matter what.

When RM talks about duties and duty structures they mean indoor/outdoor structures and attendance patterns.

Obviously if two full-time staff are paired together they can't both do the parcels for the two duties. One of them will either be off on the Saturday or have to move.

Weird one for me. Being a Nugget, I was low on the priority list so didnt have any vacants to sign for within the paramaters of my weekly hours. So I've been floating since I came off probation in January.

Since COVID I've been put on my training walk more often than not, so kind of the opposite to your situation.

as far as I know only reserves can be moved off there duty on these Saturdays for others you can be asked by your dim .or.volunteer .that goes for your days off you can come in on your day off and have Saturdays off.if your a non-driver.At our office the First Saturdays we were told no letters. The next three were leaving undersize packets which include alot of recorded which don't forget the customer. are paying for.even with bank Holiday Monday coming up..When we come back to the office were sorting flats and alot off yorks that have been held back.me and my van share partner have not been going over on our weekdays, not taking or weekdays off.some people have been coming in early on Mondays sorting next load of packets.Just playing in rm hands.

hopefully Saturday. do go back to normal ASAP.we've. been cutting off nearly everyday.so letters are carried over everyday even on days off so the floaters are left with letters.as most days not been covered on overtime,tSaturday comes have some roads of letters to complete.manager does not want any packets left during weekdays.all there really worried about are that tracked are completed so they can get there bonuses .people still coming in early and working through there breaks ,why work for free.more workload every day ,but why do it ,just thinking of themselves cause there High up in seniority .,but nobody's. safe First thing they will look at are management cause there on higher wages.why have 1 manager in a small office.when you can have 1 covering a few offices.hopefully there union will be strong enough to help them .Then they'll. realise. how the other half live ps sorry bout the grammer

With a 30+% increase in parcels and a far higher level of sick absence there is no going back to "normal" at the moment.

It wouldn't matter what system we tried there would be failures.

I've looked but can see this anywhere, I thought the "voluntary" bit was for day rotation changes for as long as these Saturdays were happening.

As far as I know they can put you on whatever round they need to, whether you have your own duty or not but would love to proven wrong :cuppa

Yep, provided there's no health & safety issues or specialist duty issues they can have you cover any duty they want (or work in any work area in a MC)
