COVID19 is having an impact on International Mail across the world.
Airline Fleets have been grounded so there is less capacity for postal items on those that are operating.
A lot of Postal Operators have reduced and in some cases entirely suspended incoming and outgoing international mail.
The virus itself is now impacting colleagues who are either self-isolating or in some cases have actually contracted the virus.
Where colleagues have contracted the virus deep cleaning has to take place.
To be as frank as possible COVID19 is having and will continue to have an impact on both the scanning process and the items progress through the network please take this into account.
For country-specific information please go to Royal Mails own International Incident Bulletin - https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... t-bulletin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Pandemic is slowing everything down, us and Customs.
In fact Atherstone, which IIRC is one of the Langley units had a case an early case so that probably didn't help. I am afraid now its a case of waiting for it, but keep checking tracking when Customs release it Royal Mail will scan it again.

Customs cant check everything, so don't even try. This means that when they decide to check a batch it gets delayed, whereas other later batches that they don't check sail through.

Hi no I still haven’t received it and it’s still saying received in Langley but nothing since it’s a pain in the hole and customer service is a disgrace just repeating same thing to me all the time

Same here, my mail was sent from HK to UK and it is received by LANGLEY HWDC on 16 Mar 2020...then nothing was being updated since then...bambam20 wrote:
COVID-19 measures was not even there yet by that time, obviously the delay of my mail is not caused by that. (RB141917917HK)
Customer service can't help even if you can contact them, the tracking service is totally useless if the mail is in HWDC...
No one can get any information of what's going on in there even royal mail itself!
I'm super disappointed to this international mail service!

Actually, that is the day that the UK Prime Minister told everyone in the country to work from home if possible, and to not go to pubs & restaurants etc. So it is really the start of the Covid-19 measures.zo520 wrote:... and it is received by LANGLEY HWDC on 16 Mar... The other posters on here are talking about outbound mail, you are talking about inbound mail, which is a completely different situation. Royal Mail can't get information from customs because they are a law enforcement agency, and also for practical reasons.zo520 wrote:Customer service can't help even if you can contact them, the tracking service is totally useless if the mail is in HWDC...

Your issue is most likely one of the following:
Your item has been selected at random for extra checks and is in a long queue for that, due to staff shortages caused by illness.
Your item contravenes customs rules or the Dangerous Goods act, we can help you rule that out if you tell us what is in the parcel.
As more than 5 weeks has passed, the sender should be claiming for loss, and if this is an online purchase then you should be claiming from the seller.
