Pegasus?
Can anyone confirm that it is an agreed work tool? If so when was it agreed and are there any details on its use? We were told today that using Pegasus will mean the loss of 13 jobs in our office with some walks having nearly 1000 drops on them.

Prgasus/geo route
As a rep I have asked for this in the dly revision in my office but the dom WON'T use it! I have asked a manager who is now back on dly's why and he said that if it was used in my office they would have to put hours BACK IN !! Royal Mail asked for this tool and it was agreed by the union but it seems that it is so effective at working out delivery routes you would need to put more hours in !! HA HA HA
If you think they can get away with it then they can! fight for your rights!!

Re: Pegasus?
All Div reps received training on pegasus last week. Area Reps are next then local reps. Until then NO REPS SHOULD BE AGREEING TO PEGASUS REVISIONS AND DISAGREEMENTS SHOULD BE REGISTEREDFluke wrote:Can anyone confirm that it is an agreed work tool? A Management and CWU agreed tool designed (allegedly) to equalize walks by measuring how far you walk. It is capable of measuring the distance from a house to the street and then onto the next house. Very good if used correctly, but pants if there is no union involvement.simply_the_best wrote:What is it?

They got us at 3.8 mph and 83% call rate with 8 seconds per drop point. Slightly lower speed because of the hills round here. Another thing to watch is it does not take account of cutting off to get another bag, if you have a particular point you always do this try to get it included.

ive been trained on geo route and yes if all the info is correctly input into the system it is a a good tool and it will add walks into the majority of offices....management dont want this so they will and have manipulated the figures to suit themselves....they want call rate figures as low as possible, up the walk speed and various other little tweaks.
when we ran the scenarios in our office it added 2 duties and even with management manipulation it left us the same as we are now
they had a bit of a hiccup though as the system was turned off to allow ordance survey to update there maps and when it was turned back on the system didnt work properly.......led to believe there could be a 6 month time scale to put right all those offices already done
typical RM...could organise a bunk up in a brothel
