None.ROB13 wrote:What use are gloves? If you touch your face without being able to wash regularly doesn't matter if you have gloves on or not you're still at risk!!
In fact in our environment they're probably more dangerous.
People think they are somehow invincible with gloves on and stop washing their hands.

Gloves and masks just give people a false sense of securityWoody Guthrie wrote:None.ROB13 wrote:What use are gloves? If you touch your face without being able to wash regularly doesn't matter if you have gloves on or not you're still at risk!!

Gloves are useless.
UNLESS you wash/disinfect your gloves or change them *every time you touch anything*
Some posties just pop them on, wear them all day, and think it's offering protection of some sort.

Gloves are great if you change them whenever they are potentially contaminated. However since we're being issued a pair a day rather than a box, yep, waste of time.
I think masks would help, but they would also be annoying and no one can get any anyway, which is why we keep getting told by "experts" that they wouldn't help IMHO.

Andy Burnham, a former UK health secretary and now the mayor of Greater Manchester in the north of England, says he is taking legal advice on whether firms forcing employees to work without adequate protection and not observing guidance to keep them two metres apart are breaking the law.
After a conference call with Greater Manchester MPs, he tweeted:
Andy Burnham
(@AndyBurnhamGM)
... I am taking legal advice about whether @gmpolice or other GM agencies can take enforcement action against companies which are exposing their employees in this way. If you would like to make a confidential report, please do so using:

I'm just waiting for the first complaint because I'm not wearing them. Had a couple of people ask me why I didn't have them on today. I can see myself being forced to wear them....As you say Sindba, they still need cleaned.sindba wrote:Gloves are useless.

It's like putting up an umbrella to protect you from an avalanche otherwise...

Load of crap probably 85% off offices nationwide are like s**t holes with managers acting like Rod Hull and emu.
Pushing us out on The streets longer and when inside no social distancing.. They don't give two f***s as long as the USO gets done and all the while we are on the front line concerning our health and well being.

There are dozens (at least) of offices named and shamed on CWU facebook page - they'll be earning our subs to get them all up to speed tomorrow! We have agreed with the company to send them a list of offices ( On Facebook ) where the 2 metre social distancing has not been implemented and they have agreed to act on this immediately

Yes but........
What is happening with at risk/vulnerable employees with underlying health conditions who should not be at work for both their own good and to help the NHS?
We urgently need great pressure applied to get RM to stand by their workforce - is furloughed workers and Government support an option
The CWU could find out very quickly.
The longer this takes the greater the risk vulnerable staff who are being forced into work by the threat of no pay.
Duty of care?
