That's more a personal responsibility issue than something that should need to be set up.themailman wrote:They will need to set up staggered times we can enter/exit the building also. At van loading times our main doorway is like the ticket barriers at a train station. Same with sign in sheets and job/prep sheet.
If there are already people in an area don't go there. If it means you sign in 5 minutes late tough.

And in mine. Anybody who didn't think they could manage it was told to stream mail from their own delivery, but not the lapsed walks. Our indoor operation was compromised a fair bit by distancing measures, so most people were in this boat.mjd24 wrote:Full lapsing today in my office.

The message isn’t getting through is it? I left a 2 metre gap in front of me in the queue for the specials. Someone stood right behind me breathing down my neck. Someone else didn’t think I was in the queue so stood in front of me filling the safe gap so I walked away.
Went back to my frame, bent down to pick up a bag, a line manager who’s only job is to collect empty trays came up, collecting trays right next to me just inches from me - can’t he collect fcking trays when we’ve all left the building?!

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Van sharing must stop ASAP
turned out it was right what he was saying though. they stopped the van sharing. and some posties had mail dropped off at their house for delivery.viking1488 wrote:our DOM mentioned the union meeting with management thats crap the meeting got cancelled by rmthemailman wrote:Nice, so what if non driver is full time?daveyeff wrote:our DOM mentioned the union meeting with management today and said it IS going to happen(stop van sharing). i asked what are the thousands of non-driver posties going to do then. he said they were looking at us working from home. as in.....having duties prepped and dropped off at your home....now i am all ears on how they are going to swing this one???
Driver goes into DO, adheres to 2-3m spacing, preps duty, loads van, gets keys specials etc, drives to partners house (we are now 2-3 hours into shift at this point), toots the horn to wake them up, allow them to take 14 loops of mail (30 mins a loop) out the back of van - passenger shouts - "what do you mean I've to do 7 hours on delivery?!?" Driver does a few loops plus ALL packets big or small, RD's, post boxes and specials (remember they have already been working for 3 hours). At finish the passenger should have nothing left as they are letters only, don't even need a PDA. Repeat the next day.
In reality though, I can see drivers getting absolutely shafted here.

It's a massive security breach storing mail in your house, personally I wouldn't touch it with a very long bargepole.

D2D for whole or lot of delivery on one day.
Not able to see workload before it is tied up and follow over-running procedure with lino.

Also my house isn't a RM mail storage point... Maybe they can offer to pay rent if they wish to store their mail at my property?

well is the ''Royal Mail brief to managers'' post that was put out by Postman last night not an agreed item like? cos if its not then our office is doing unagreed practises. according to them the safety of the workforce is paramount, hence the van sharing being knocked on the head.Woody Guthrie wrote:Who agreed to that davey?
