i have been approached by some of the more deeper thinking members ( no jokes please ) of our branch , asking particular questions on the repercussions of yes/no vote. ( those that would normally follow the advice of cwu hq.) they have gone on to reject the deal. if this is repeated over the country i would be confident of a "no" outcome. this is purely based on the people asking me, as a rep, not for my opinion, but the answers i can give as a rep. i hasten to add that i wasn,t asked by these people which way i, or they should vote, but they have informed me of their vote. this added to the positive "no,s", and i honestly have not had a single "yes" relayed to me. personally i hope this is repeated over the british isles. these people are prepared to take whatever action is necessary to secure a better deal than the one being offered at this time, including industrial action . if the leaders do not have the same courage, presuming we get a no vote, i hope they do the honorable thing and resign.

Not so sure that they should be allowed an honourable exit. To my mind they have been bought off by RM and as such presented a deal which no Union Exec in their right mind should ever have looked at.

The deal on the table is almost exactly the same as before any negotiating begun, too much coffee and biscuits and dirty jokes flyin round the table and not enough hardball.

Personally I would like to see them put out of the job with a vote of NO CONFIDENCE. Maybe we should get one of the moving icons made up for all the exec members who voted yes for this deal and put them beside the ones we have for Crozier and Leighton.

I despair at the mentality of a small minority of people in my office who said they're voting Yes just because they are tired of conflict and just want it sorted before Christmas. AT ANY PRICE ??? is my response. Most people I have spoken to in any great detail about the issues have said they have voted NO, but I am sceptical because of the experience of the Way Forward deal, that was accepted despite nobody admitting to voting for it ! I suspect the result will be close, but it's those that don't vote at all that need their heads examined. Why lose pay in the strikes and then not use your vote

not a question about being radical it's our future thats being delt with and i must say i know of only one i'd say that voted yes in my office.
I of course voted no and no doubt am considered a union activist for doing so by the screws ?

No but I think both RMC and PMC will only have people who ten to take a more active role in the workplace or who are more concerned than most. The one thing that upsets me about a lot of posties is the general apathy you see on a day to day basis. More and more being a postie is now just a job rather than providing a service, hence the reason for the relatively poor turn out on recent ballots.

That’s why I didn’t vote.

I think the reason that most of the members voted yes was simply for the money, to stop the strike and will worry about the impact later.

This union is divided; we need people who can inspire the rank and file to unite. Lessons must be learned, questions must be asked.

The union are too busy dealing with the crap that we get from management and have took there eye off the ball.

The union has neglected the rank and file, we need good confident leadership.
