Implications on mail after the UK's exit from the EU

I am still waiting for a parcel from USA. Tracking says it processed through facility once one 10/12/2019. Why is it taking so long?

Moved into Customers forum.

As it's from the USA they scanned it as they passed it too Customs, RM can't scan it till it gets cleared.

Therefore, without any details to go off all we can suggest is that it's caught up in a back log in Customs.

Ok thanks. Do you know how long customs can hold it for? Or how long the back logs are? What are back logs anyway? Lol

They can hold it for as long as they deem necessary. The time taken varies, depending on whether the item is selected for extra checks or not. Also, there will be a large increase in the volume of mail to process because of Christmas, and often they can't process it out as fast as it comes in: that's what a backlog is.
