Hello. I’m new to the forum so apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place.

I posted a book to the US as part of a birthday and Christmas parcel to a friend. Had no idea books were prohibited. It’s a paperback book of events from 1960 worth £5 from an independent publisher and I’m wondering if it will clear the “conditionally accepted” list as “protected by copyright in Britain”. If not, can I recall it? Will it be sent back?

It exited Langley quickly. Is this a good sign? If not, how can I recall it?

What is the AMU? From what I see it’s to do with database of addresses.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I sent a parcel via OTC - also stuck at Gatwick AMU for a few weeks now. Hopefully it moves shortly.

Happy to say my parcel moved out of AMU and proceeded to its American destination overnight. No troubles with customs in either country and arrived intact.
