HWDC Langley - Turkey to Ireland

Hi,

I ordered a jacket from a seller in Turkey who regularly sends clothing to the UK. He sent the goods on the 30th October and they are showing as arrived in HWDC Langley on the 15th November at 1.50am. They have sat here ever since by the looks of it. I have tried to contact royal mail through twitter to which their constant response is you just have to wait. One of the responses was it looks like it hasn't got any customs charges on it but you just have to wait. The seller also posted a jacket to a customer in England on the 5th November, this parcel arrived into Langley on the 15th as well but was delivered on roughly the 18th or 19th November.

The tracking number for my parcel is RR354972095TR.

Considering we are at roughly 10-12 working days now is it more then likely gone/lost or is there still hope?

It is to be delivered to Dublin, Ireland. I have checked both Royal mail and an post every morning but nothing has changed.

The only problem I can think that may have occurred is a mess up on the address but surely it wouldn't be impossible to understand where its going. The address the seller put down was:

J***** K*******,
4* W********** P*****,
Dublin,
D** E***,
Republic of Ireland, UK.

Surely the people in HWDC, Langley would be able to see this is to go to Ireland and would move it on?

Is it worth contacting them over the phone and possibly waiting ages(costing a fortune for an Irish call) or just leave it?

If going to Dublin why would it stop at London and go through customs, surely it would just go on a transitional flight to the republic of ireland, then get checked there etc. Why would item be checked and import duties be collected in HWDC.

some couriers mark items as arriving at such and such place if the plane the item was supposedly on has landed, not an actual scan, so might not even have reach London. happened to me few times, said item departed a plane at London Heathrow but hadnt even left departing country

Customs choose random batches of mail for extra checks, they might have chosen the cargo pod that the item is in for extra checks. HWDC won't have access to the item until customs release it

Even if it says it has been received at HWDC Langley they might not have it?

I imagine it's not coming from Turkey now? That's just an automated message so realistically it's coming from the UK to Ireland now? Don't understand how it could go from item recieved in the UK to leaving Turkey again lol!
