Missing Parcel Tracked as Delivered

Post by allybee13 »

I've had a parcel go missing that has been marked as delivered.

* It had the correct address and postcode - these were the first things I checked.
* Tracked as delivered on Friday 21/06/19 at 1:48pm (we were all at work)
* Parcel was too big for the letterbox so couldn't have been put through the door
* No ticket left to say it was with a neighbour or in a safe place (have checked with neighbours, inside wheelie bins etc)
* I raised this with customer services on Tuesday 25/06/19 and have a reference number. They contacted Bishopbriggs delivery office.
* Bishopbriggs delivery office says GPS shows the delivery guy at my door
* Delivery guy says he remembers it because it was his last delivery that day and we got 3 parcels (we got nothing)
* Delivery guy was a non-driver and the driver also confirms that it was delivered
* I've written to the delivery office requesting more information, but not had a reply

This was a hand made item sent from the US for my daughter's birthday - we just want it back. Raising a claim is useless as the item is sentimental and I suspect that if Royal Mail state it was delivered then USPS wouldn't pay out anyway.

Can any of you advise what we can do next? Can I get some kind of screen shot from the GPS? Can I go to the delivery office and ask to speak to the person that says he delivered it?

Advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You can go to the delivery office but you'll only get a manager , they should show you the information they have as to why they think its been delivered.

If he remembers 3 parcels (and you didn't get any) it would suggest he delivered yours along with the 2 others to a different address.
Ask if there any scans at the same time as yours and if they can tell where the other 2 were delivered.

Is there a very similar address to yours? If for instance you live in Acacia Close, is there an Acacia Court.
Somebody might not have been paying attention when they checked the GPS location.

It has turned up! He had put it in a neighbour’s garage and didn’t leave a ticket anywhere to say that’s what he’d done. The neighbour found it when she went into her garage about thirty minutes ago. She was so embarrassed that she’d had it for all this time.

Thanks for your suggestions - I’ll bear them in mind if something like this happens again.

I apologize for that postie`s action, he should have left a card saying where he left the parcel...
Not all posties are runners like yours :arrrghhh
