It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. To use a fighting analogy, it doesn't matter how confident you are in the ring, always good to have decent seconds in the corner behind you.
I think going by the forum isnt a great measurement of how much bullying etc there is, people tend to come to the forum to get help so the amount of negative posts is always going to far outweigh the positive. Its also a very small relative number of posts in such a big employer. Without the union do people think we`d even get the contracts, sick leave, holidays and most importantly pay we get right now ? Just take a look at the upcoming news when RM will want to cut back costs ie jobs, theyd go MUCH further without a union.
I've cancelled my subscription to the CWU. It really wasn't an easy decision and took me a couple of years to come to but I'll not have union men going round the office telling people they're having to come off their duty and be a reserve after twenty years. Well it seams we should all do 60 hours a week 7 days a week just because some managers want a decent pension for themself's whilst ours was cut from beneath us and they expect us to run ourselfs into the ground for their pensions bollocks.
