Sender Preparing Item for over a week

Hi

I have a parcel coming from a reputable company who I very much trust and they have confirmed that my parcel was physically handed over to Royal Mail on the 17th of May.
The tracking still only says "Sender Preparing Item".
Could anyone tell me if this is something that sometimes happens with Royal Mail that it doesn't show progress on the tracking. I'm thinking it could be possibly a electronic problem that its not updating or it physically missed the scan?

A week is a long time for that status - normally its 24 hours max, or a weekend.

Contact the sender, there are a few possible issues.

1. They changed the tracking number on dispatch.
2. Royal Mail changed the number for some reason (unlikely).
3. They haven't got the items in stock.
4. They sent it out by a different carrier.

Any of those the sender should be able to resolve.

Hi,

I actually received the parcel today and It did have the same tracking number on the box on it as what I was given.
Interesting that it still says sender preparing item on the website. But I'm very happy with how quick the delivery was nevertheless.

As far as I know, no one is working in Royal Mail today ?? Unless someone is doing overtime but that would be rare in a quiet period like now.

Did it come by another courier?

It was Royal Mail international post UK to Australia so it was handed over to AusPost for delivery.
