An update on this document. I've called the receiver, and they've actually got it! This document was noted to have been sitting at Langley since the 29th of March (and still there!), but in actual fact, its already been delivered to the recipient early this week, so it was a matter of not being scanned the second time to confirm its delivery.hkcj wrote:Hi,
I have sent a document (RR444952690HU) under 500g from Hungary to Oxford as a registered priority mail with tracking and notice on delivery, so it should have arrived within 3-5 working days from the 26th of March. However tracking shows that it is stuck at Langley. Is there anything that can be done?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Have a parcel sent from the US, I though it had arrived in UK due to royal mail tracking saying
04:35am - Item Received - LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom
05:00am - Item has left our International Processing Centre - Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre, United Kingdom
other tracking sites have it as processed through facility in United Kingdom, but never actually state arrived or departed, and later say it departed frankfurt Germany. Can is appear as processed through Facility in UK without actually arriving, through USPS somehow communicating with royalmail.
so has parcel arrived in UK and been mishandled and sent to frankfurt, or has it never actually been in the UK. Do parcels sent from US to UK sometimes transit through other european countries when sent by airmail?

My mum sent me a letter from Spain on the 12th April, it has been in Langley HWDC since 17th. They are just document, but quite expensive ones. I need them to WORK. I have been trying to contact everywhere, I am just frustrating, this is costing me a lot of money, firstly because I can not work without them. Any idea when it would be delivered?? RF170141586ES

I am sending a parcel from UK to Germany it is a return to Amazon there, posted on 17th using track & signature and says 3-4 day delivery time on the website. It has been at Langley now for 10 days. GLS website says they still haven't got it. Does outbound post to Europe normally take this long?

Hello! Im wondering if anyone can help at all. I have a parcel being sent back to sender in Japan, but it's currently still in the UK on the way to Langley. Is there any way of intercepting it, and getting it redelivered? I've already called royal mail customer services who weren't able to help. I'd be so grateful for any advice if anyone has been through this before. Thank you!

Sorry no, with literally millions of parcels going through the system every single day its impossible to intercept one being returned to sender in a different country. Also from a legal standpoint once it has entered the system, or in this case re-entered the system, they are only a few rare occasions where it's not breaking the law if you do intercept it without legal or judicial authority.Lostparcel2019 wrote:Hello! There seem to be some bad delays in customs, now whether this is because of Brexit or not it is impossible to say. But even though we remain in the EU now, items still need to go through various checks at the border. the batch your return is in may have been selected for more checks than normal.

It is probably stuck in UK customs, as part of a batch of mail that has been chosen for extra checks.
Friday 19/04 and Monday 22/04 were public holidays in the UK, so this was always going to make the process a bit longer.

waiting for a parcel from the US. Had this message since the 22nd April
Departed. Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on April 22, 2019 at 7:11 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.
that is from the USPS site
tracking number is LH064591169US
Royal Mail has this on their tracking "This item is now leaving the originating country. More information will be available when it arrives in the UK", on 20th April
what does that mean?
If royal mail tracking gets information from USPS, then why does it not show the same tracking update that appears on the USPS site on the 22nd April? what does "Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on April 22, 2019 at 7:11 am" mean. Surely item cannot be scanned by USPS once it leaves the plane? or does some other company to this for USPS before passing to customs.
any other time i have ordered from the USA i tend to have had a message about processing through Langley or something similar , never about departing a transfer airport. Is it a automated thing by USPS once they believe the plane that supposedly has the item is on has landed and unloaded? or has it actually really been scanned? just doesnt make sense to me

Well, mine is now 9 working days with no further movement. Is this a "normal" length of delay for bank holiday? as my gut feeling says parcel is lost and as the deadline for returning it is 9 May, i expect the refund i was sending it back for in the first place will now also be lost.Snaggletooth wrote:It is probably stuck in UK customs, as part of a batch of mail that has been chosen for extra checks.

That depends on how you define normal. Most mail goes through in a day or two. But on the other hand, mail selected for extra checks takes longer, we have seen examples where it has taken over a month.

Just looked at your old post, this was about an outbound parcel, whereas the post of mine you quoted above relates to an inbound item. The two situations are not comparable.Susawusa wrote:Well, mine is now 9 working days with no further movement.
