Hello all,
I would much appreciate if someone could explain what the markings are along the bottom of the attached photo.
Apologies, they are red ink on a pink envelope so may not be very clear.
Specifically, is it some kind of digital postmark and would it include the place and time when the letter was posted?

Its a machine code for routeing the item through the system, You can see it, faintly, on a lot of mail these days.

So there is no way of tracing where/when a Freepost envelope was posted other than if the sender sends it registered?
