whats the crack with all this lovejoy bashing, the bloke comes on here and posts alot of sense,is it a case of because certain people dont agree with him that they have to have a pop at him?i thought this site was all about freedom of speech?geopip wrote:Stop crying you were happy to try and dish the dirt on Dave Warren over the BBC mailroom pay agreement and yet you can't take somebody doubting your access to info and how quickly you get itlovejoy wrote:Hey what is this? A hunt for Lovejoy season. All I do is post any info that comes through to me and sometimes (times allowing) get involved in debate.geopip wrote:Of course he isPOSTMAN wrote:Just a quick heads up,i know who Lovejoy is and have also spoken to him,he's not Irish and is deffo not Noel McLean.
He's just a Postie with bits and bobs of info from sunny Scunthorpe.
I personally don't care who is who on here. I am definately not on the PEC and have no connections to them. GET THAT IN YOUR HEADS!!!!
If you would rather not have the info / debate thats fine. Just say and I won't bother posting.
I thought the idea of this post was to share and become stronger through our unity. Surely our objective should be to attack Royal Mail and not each other on here?

Can we stop this attempt to "out" Lovejoy!
I don't agree with many of his posts, but that's not the point. We know management monitor royalmailchat, if the idea takes off that we should spend our time identifying people who knows who we would be shopping to them.
Answer his posts, debate the posts, but leave out the attempts to identify people!

Lovejoy, thank you very much for posting important information on this site. I don't care where the information comes from and who is posting them as long as they are factual. Information that is posted on here could be from anyone branch secretaries, central committee members, regional secretaries, area unit reps, divisional reps, pec members, nec members. Therefore, back-off and leave Lovejoy alone.

geopip wrote:I don't quite see your point on Dave Warren voting for 2.5% pay increase for BBC mailroom workers I don't believe Dave took his stance on the Royal Mail deal solely on pay it’s the strings attached that worry him and should worry us.kill Joy wrote:Concerns over GMB in NI are well founded. From my memory of a conference a few years ago the issue was around 2 former members of this union who went to work for GMB one male one female, the name Billy Buchanan rings a bell. They then started to stir the s**t and recruited a few disaffected members. I expect this is where the scabing came from. The criticism of the GMB on this issue is spot on, that doesn't mean the GMB are all crap. I expect there was a lot of sectarian sh*t going down which is exactly what they dont need. Lets hope Pat o'hara's gettin it sorted.
On the BBC mailroom my source confirms what has been said with warrens vote for a 2.5% increase, i also understand that some who voted for the RM deal voted against. Feckin strange if you ask me, but we weren't there so who knows?
I dont have a particular prolem with the way warren or anyone else votes provided it is honest and consistant with there actions. I have posted facts on the PEC unanimously voting on a document that stated that the the RM Pay increase was acceptable. If you want details see my post on PEC Revalations under the Pay & Modernisation Forum. Have alook and make your own mind up.
Please remember none of us can make an informed view without the facts so lets not slate those who provide it.
Yet you seem to be trying to cast aspersions on him because he voted against the RM agreement and has come out and spoke publicly a brave thing no matter how you view it, the CWU HQ barons mercers Ward, Hayes, Candy, Colbett, Sampson and Slocombe won’t make life easy for him in the future. It is very strange that those really influencing and running the Union with the exception Ward and Hayes are unelected employees of the Union and not the National Officers we elect.
Colbett is that John Colbert you are referring to or somebody with a similar surname?
Just for the record JC before HQ was a elected rep/officer and was Eastern regional secretary.
Your post does raise an intresting point though about elected/unellected officers, do we want a union were every HQ job is elected?
I was told by my course tutor when i did TUC health and safety at a localish college that we (CWU) were rare in that we had a elected national health and safety officer (Currently Dave Joyce) so its not all bad news on the numbers of appointed officers in CWU.
