Hi, :wave Hope i'm in the right place!

Please can anyone help.. I've purchased an item on Ebay 2 days ago, and paid an extra £3.68 for Royal Mail Tracked 24

Ebay emailed me yesterday morning to say item has been dispatched, and gave me a Tracking number. However, the online tracking Track and Trace still reads;

We're expecting it
Tracking no. FQ469481909GB

The sender has let us know this item will be with us soon.
Service used:
Royal Mail Tracked 24™
The sender has advised us they're preparing your item. More information will be available when we receive it.

I contacted the seller who just says their system says the item was sent, and they will contact Royal Mail to find out. Naturally I haven't heard back from them..

Is it possible to get a tracking number without sending the item?

Any help much appreciated!
